I am also a licensed armed security officer in the State of Tennessee. To obtain my particular
certification, I had to be teased and pepper sprayed. I believe the purpose of requiring the
prospective officer to expose themselves to these types of treatment is to prove, among other
things, that the officer will not back away from their job, but will stand up to aggression or
proposed threats, accept responsibility and do what needs to be done in spite of the very real
possibility of injury or death. I work security part time for special events Through
Comprehensive Security in Nashville as well as Nashville Security Services. Special events include
such jobs as security for the TV and movie productions filmed in the Nashville area.
