At the end of the lesson, learners should be able to:
a. Identify the précis/abstract/summary of texts in the various disciplines.
b. Find the importance of précising/abstracting/summarizing the texts in the various
disciplines.
c. Write the précis/abstract/summary of texts in the various disciplines.

C. REFERENCES: “Legal Indictment”, LM for SHS English for Academic and
Professional Purposes

A. PREPARATORY ACTIVITIES

B.1 Motivation
What is communication? Is it important in our daily activities? How
about the language we use in communication?
The teacher will let the learners read the Philippine Constitution,
“Language”.
1. Are the words in the Constitution commonly used in everyday
conversation?
2. Are the sentences simple in structure?
3. What is the main idea of this article?
4. Paraphrase the article.
B.2 Activity
The teacher will divide the class into four groups, and they will discuss
the “Legal Indictment” on page 35 of their textbook.
They will answer the following and report to the class on what they
have discussed.
1. What type of language used in the selection?
2. Is the language commonly used in the ordinary communication?
3. In plain language, share your findings about the decisions of the
Jurors.
4. Express the last paragraph of the District attorney’s statement in
simple language.

Is it important in our daily activities? How about the language we use in communication? The teacher will let the learners read the Philippine Constitution, “Language”. 1. Are the words in the Constitution commonly used in everyday conversation? 2. Are the sentences simple in structure? 3. What is the main idea of this article? 4. Paraphrase the article. B.2 Activity The teacher will divide the class into four groups, and they will discuss the “Legal Indictment” on page 35 of their textbook.
