Resource Conservation and Management
1.
2. RESOURCE CONSERVATION
Conservation of resources is the ethical and protection of valuable resources , such as
trees, minerals, wiled life, land, water and others.
MANAGEMENT
Management is administration, the process or practice of managing.
3. CONSERVATION AND MANAGEMENT
OF LAND:
Contour Farming: Rather than planting crops in straight vertical rows, crops are planted
following the contour of the land scape
4. Reduce Impervious Surface : Impervious surface such as driveways and patios allows
precipitation to flow freely over them, rather than infiltrate them. As result this can be a
cause for land erosion.
Afforestation: To protect river bank erosion afforestation can be an important prevailing
condition. Trees with there root helps to stable the soil and protect from erosion.
5. CONSERVATION AND MANAGEMENT
OF WATER:
Dams: Dams are simply hydraulic structure that act as a barrier between the source
and destination of river flow, dams collect the excess flow of water. Most of the dams
are use for irrigation, some of them are also used of electricity produce purpose.
Dams can be helpful in conservation of water.
6. Rain Water Harvesting: By this process rain water is use for daily needs and even after
rain is over. It more like the recycling of natural water.
7. Drip Irrigation: Drip irrigation is a type of micro irrigation system that has the potential
to save water and nutrient by allowing water to drip slowly to the root of the plants,
either from above the soil surface or buried below the surface.
8. CNSERVATION F BIOTIC RESOURCES:
Biotic resources includes the natural resources present in the environment forest, animals, birds, fish,
marine ecosystem etc.
Conservation Of Forest:
Reforestation: Creation of new forest is a major process of forest conservation, this can be done in two ways
1. Tree plantation on barren land
2. Afforestation on flat area of forest
Control Grazing: Over grazing is harmful for immature plants of forest and grassland. We need to control
grazing.
Stopping Immature Felling: We need to concern about the felling of immature trees.
Forest Conservation: Forest can conserve by various government steps, such as conserve forest, reserved forest
etc.
9. Conservation and Management of Bio-
Diversity:
Conservation of Species Diversity: Here various species are conserved from their vanishing
stage. The process works in two ways
1. In-situ Conservation: Here the species are taking into conservation in their own environment.
2. Ex-situ Conservation: the species are remove from their own environment and tries to conserve in
artificially created environment.
Ecosystem Diversity Conservation: Whole ecosystem are taking inti conservation.
Genetic Diversity Conservation: Specific gene pool are conserved here, these are gene
bank, seed bank, sperm bank.
