Case Study Of CITES
CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) is an international environmental agreements or treaty between 171 nations in
1975 that is aimed at ensuring that global wildlife trade is managed responsibly and sustainably. This was done because trade in wildlife was
estimated to be worth billions of dollars every year. The purpose of CITES was also to ensure that international trade does not threaten the survival of
different species. This convention establishes international cooperation of certain species from over exploitation through international trade, this is to
say the main concern of CITES is conservation of species (Fiadjoe, Y. 2014).
CITES member states and the involved no governmental organisations represents attitudes towards wildlife either political, ethical and cultural
differences that have...show more content...
These reports were then taken to CITES and the media on mass and gruesome killing of elephants. These elephants are also threatened by increased
loos of their habitat and loss of range due to rapid human population growth and agricultural developments. There CITES member states are doing all
they could to reduce the killing of such species so that they may be useful to the future generation. It is stated clearly that African elephants compete
with people in Botswana for protected areas to ensure survival of elephants, because in many areas of Botswana people and animals depend on the
same resources and space, therefore resulting in conflicts among the

Elements Of Annotated Bibliography
First you need to add a source to your document. A works cited list is a list of sources located at the end of a document. A bibliography is a list of
sources that you consulted when you created the document. After you add sources, you can automatically generate a works cited list or a bibliography
based on that source information. Citations are references that are placed inline with the text.
Add a source – Source Manager. The Source Manager records every source ever entered on your computer so that you can reuse them in any other
document. All the sources that you have cited, either in previous documents or in the current document, look under Master list.

Descriptive Essay About My City
Our town is more home to us than our actual house. We make so much memories around town, whether it's dining out with the family at a local
restaurant or learning how to ride a bike at our local park to spending our first paycheck at the local mall. Our town is very precious and we often
take for granted, what a privilege it is to live in a place where so much is accessible to us. We often oversee all the little things our town offers like
the stores, the parks, the many street lights that keep our town well lit, and the well paved roads. Today I will discuss the description of my town, the
people that make up my neighborhood, and the perks of living in Orland Park.
Orland Park is a southwest suburb in Illinois. It is a well known town due to it's many fine dining restaurants, shopping centers, and great school
district. Orland Park is a busy town and to fit the needs of the people, the busiest street was just remodeled. Lagrange Road was just remodeled and
widened into a three lane road in each direction. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation website, "The project cost ninety–five million
dollars and took three years to complete." Now there is a brick median in the road that is filled with trees, flowers, and small bushes. On the
southbound side of LaGrange Road there is a walking trail, that is also used as a biking trail. Most of the shopping centers and buildings all have the
same design. The buildings consist of tan colored bricks and long but narrow

Cite Source Analysis
How do I cite sources?
This depends on what type of work you are writing, how you are using the borrowed material, and the expectations of your instructor.
First, you have to think about how you want to identify your sources. If your sources are very important to your ideas, you should mention the author
and work in a sentence that introduces your citation. If, however, you are only citing the source to make a minor point, you may consider using
parenthetical references, footnotes, or endnotes.
There are also different forms of citation for different disciplines. For example, when you cite sources in a psychology paper you would probably use a
different form of citation than you might in a paper for an English class.
Finally, you should...show more content...
If the source is central to your work, you may want to introduce it in a separate sentence or two, summarizing its importance and main ideas. But often
you can just tag this information onto the beginning or end of a sentence. For example, the following sentence puts information about the author and
work before the quotation:
Milan Kundera, in his book The Art of the Novel, suggests that "if the novel should really disappear, it will do so not because it has exhausted its
powers but because it exists in a world grown alien to it."
You may also want to describe the author(s) if they are not famous, or if you have reason to believe your reader does not know them. You should say
whether they are economic analysts, artists, physicists, etc. If you do not know anything about the author, and cannot find any information, it is best to
say where you found the source and why you believe it is credible and worth citing. For example,
In an essay presented at an Asian Studies conference held at Duke University, Sheldon Geron analyzes the relation of state, labor–unions, and small
businesses in Japan between 1950s and

Essay about New Urbanism
New Urbanism
New Urbanism, a burgeoning genre of architecture and city planning, is a movement that has come about only in the past decade. This movement is a
response to the proliferation of conventional suburban development (CSD), the most popular form of suburban expansion that has taken place since
World War II. Wrote Robert Steuteville, "Lacking a town center orpedestrian scale, CSD spreads out to consume large areas of countryside even as
population grows relatively slowly. Automobile use per capita has soared, because a motor vehicle is required for nearly all human transportation"1.
New Urbanism, therefore, represents the converse of this planning ideology. It stresses traditional planning, including multi–purpose zoning,...show

Drawing upon the lessons of urban revitalization, Seaside also utilizes a strong network of neighborhood associations that not only work to continuously
beautify the area but collect dues to ensure that it is done so.4
Perhaps the most definitive example of New Urbanism has been DPZ's project, Kentlands, a 352–acre community in Gaithersburg, Maryland begun in
1990. An oasis of good planning in a sea of suburbia, it is not only a model of Traditional Neighborhood Design (TND) but also the predecessor to
many other such neighborhoods developed within CSD areas. In Kentlands, much like Seaside, the Citizens' Assembly runs a recreation center and
provides for common maintenance of public areas. Civic buildings and shopping in mixed–use buildings are within walking distance of the
development's six architecturally distinct neighborhoods. This compact design reduces auto traffic significantly, allows children to go about their daily
business without requiring a mother chauffeur and puts workplaces near their employees.5
Unique character is worked into the community's design wherever possible:
Kentlands has idiosyncrasy and imperfections––intentionally. Authentic variety is achieved by allowing odd, leftover lots to remain, forcing the
design of a building for just that lot. We insisted that the imprecision of design sketches be reflected in the built work. It took years for the engineers to
get used to not straightening every street or making every

Big Cities Vs Small Town Research
Do you prefer big city lights or a sky full of stars? Do you like to fall asleep to honking cars or no noise at all? Do you want to walk outside and
smell car exhaust or freshly cut grass? Depending on what you prefer might determine if you like big cities or small towns. Big cities have some
advantages but I think small towns have even more advantages that would make you want to live there. Small towns are better to live in compared to
big cities. One of the biggest reasons small towns are better to live in has to do with money. The cost of living in a city compared to a small town is
dramatically higher. Housing prices are very different. In a city, houses and apartments are expensive, but in a small town they are more affordable.
Money...show more content...
Lots of big cities have multiple schools and they all have thousands of kids that attend them. Big schools tend to have larger class sizes so it will
be harder to get one on one time with your teachers. Large schools also have tryouts for sports teams and other extra curricular activities. It is
harder to get involved with your school if you have to tryout for activities. In a small school you get the advantage of knowing most of the kids
that go to your school. The atmosphere of a small town is more comforting than a city. Cities are noisy while towns are peaceful. Small towns have
less pollution. You can walk down the street in a town and people smile and stop to talk to you. In a city people usually walk right past you without
even giving a smile. People in a small town are friendly and always willing to help a community member in need. There are so many reasons why
living in a small town is better than living in a city. If you want a lower cost of living, a safe place for your family to live, a chance to get involved in
your community, or a comfortable place to call home then a small town is the place for you. Small towns are better to live in compared to big

Motivation for College Students Introduction Motivation is defined as the process that initiates, guides, and maintains goal–oriented behaviors.
Motivation is what causes us to act, whether it is getting a glass of water to reduce thirst or reading a book to gain knowledge. (Cherry, 2016)
Motivation plays the role in everyday lives. Ones motivation to do something differs from ones feels and the type of motivation towards the action that
is being done. By studying motivation, we learn what gives our behavior its purpose, direction and sustainability. (Bond & McConkey, 2001, p. 6.3).

For instance, if a child doesn 't respond at all to external motivators, and he or she needs to do something unpleasant and undesired, that child is
unlikely to engage in the desired behavior. (Frank, 2017) College Students motivation The life of many college students is stressful and challenging.
(Medora & Woodward,1986) For college students being forced to go to school is never the case but it is a choice by the student whether to attend or
not. Motivation then plays a huge factor for student. Motivation is needed to pursue the certain major the college student chooses by interest and the
success to graduate college.
Students who are intrinsically motivated can experience greater pleasure and emotional intimacy because being intrinsically motivated are usually
positive degree feelings such as enjoyment, pleasure, satisfaction, and self–leniency. Students can be always motivated by those internal rewards from
the learning itself. While for other students who are extrinsically motivated, they "may work efficiently in the short term in response to external wages
and inducement , but their motivation is unlikely to sustain itself autonomously if the learning experience does not generate internal or intrinsic
rewards" (ibid.22). Those students that work for extrinsic rewards are passive because if the external reinforcement isn 't available, then they have no
reason to do it and they may remain stagnant with no motivation. Although college is by choice

Case Study Of CITES

  • 1. Case Study Of CITES CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) is an international environmental agreements or treaty between 171 nations in 1975 that is aimed at ensuring that global wildlife trade is managed responsibly and sustainably. This was done because trade in wildlife was estimated to be worth billions of dollars every year. The purpose of CITES was also to ensure that international trade does not threaten the survival of different species. This convention establishes international cooperation of certain species from over exploitation through international trade, this is to say the main concern of CITES is conservation of species (Fiadjoe, Y. 2014). CITES member states and the involved no governmental organisations represents attitudes towards wildlife either political, ethical and cultural differences that have...show more content... These reports were then taken to CITES and the media on mass and gruesome killing of elephants. These elephants are also threatened by increased loos of their habitat and loss of range due to rapid human population growth and agricultural developments. There CITES member states are doing all they could to reduce the killing of such species so that they may be useful to the future generation. It is stated clearly that African elephants compete with people in Botswana for protected areas to ensure survival of elephants, because in many areas of Botswana people and animals depend on the same resources and space, therefore resulting in conflicts among the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 3. Descriptive Essay About My City Our town is more home to us than our actual house. We make so much memories around town, whether it's dining out with the family at a local restaurant or learning how to ride a bike at our local park to spending our first paycheck at the local mall. Our town is very precious and we often take for granted, what a privilege it is to live in a place where so much is accessible to us. We often oversee all the little things our town offers like the stores, the parks, the many street lights that keep our town well lit, and the well paved roads. Today I will discuss the description of my town, the people that make up my neighborhood, and the perks of living in Orland Park. Orland Park is a southwest suburb in Illinois. It is a well known town due to it's many fine dining restaurants, shopping centers, and great school district. Orland Park is a busy town and to fit the needs of the people, the busiest street was just remodeled. Lagrange Road was just remodeled and widened into a three lane road in each direction. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation website, "The project cost ninety–five million dollars and took three years to complete." Now there is a brick median in the road that is filled with trees, flowers, and small bushes. On the southbound side of LaGrange Road there is a walking trail, that is also used as a biking trail. Most of the shopping centers and buildings all have the same design. The buildings consist of tan colored bricks and long but narrow Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 5. Cite Source Analysis How do I cite sources? This depends on what type of work you are writing, how you are using the borrowed material, and the expectations of your instructor. First, you have to think about how you want to identify your sources. If your sources are very important to your ideas, you should mention the author and work in a sentence that introduces your citation. If, however, you are only citing the source to make a minor point, you may consider using parenthetical references, footnotes, or endnotes. There are also different forms of citation for different disciplines. For example, when you cite sources in a psychology paper you would probably use a different form of citation than you might in a paper for an English class. Finally, you should...show more content... If the source is central to your work, you may want to introduce it in a separate sentence or two, summarizing its importance and main ideas. But often you can just tag this information onto the beginning or end of a sentence. For example, the following sentence puts information about the author and work before the quotation: Milan Kundera, in his book The Art of the Novel, suggests that "if the novel should really disappear, it will do so not because it has exhausted its powers but because it exists in a world grown alien to it." You may also want to describe the author(s) if they are not famous, or if you have reason to believe your reader does not know them. You should say whether they are economic analysts, artists, physicists, etc. If you do not know anything about the author, and cannot find any information, it is best to say where you found the source and why you believe it is credible and worth citing. For example, In an essay presented at an Asian Studies conference held at Duke University, Sheldon Geron analyzes the relation of state, labor–unions, and small businesses in Japan between 1950s and

  • 9. Essay about New Urbanism New Urbanism New Urbanism, a burgeoning genre of architecture and city planning, is a movement that has come about only in the past decade. This movement is a response to the proliferation of conventional suburban development (CSD), the most popular form of suburban expansion that has taken place since World War II. Wrote Robert Steuteville, "Lacking a town center orpedestrian scale, CSD spreads out to consume large areas of countryside even as population grows relatively slowly. Automobile use per capita has soared, because a motor vehicle is required for nearly all human transportation"1. New Urbanism, therefore, represents the converse of this planning ideology. It stresses traditional planning, including multi–purpose zoning,...show more content... Drawing upon the lessons of urban revitalization, Seaside also utilizes a strong network of neighborhood associations that not only work to continuously beautify the area but collect dues to ensure that it is done so.4 Perhaps the most definitive example of New Urbanism has been DPZ's project, Kentlands, a 352–acre community in Gaithersburg, Maryland begun in 1990. An oasis of good planning in a sea of suburbia, it is not only a model of Traditional Neighborhood Design (TND) but also the predecessor to many other such neighborhoods developed within CSD areas. In Kentlands, much like Seaside, the Citizens' Assembly runs a recreation center and provides for common maintenance of public areas. Civic buildings and shopping in mixed–use buildings are within walking distance of the development's six architecturally distinct neighborhoods. This compact design reduces auto traffic significantly, allows children to go about their daily business without requiring a mother chauffeur and puts workplaces near their employees.5 Unique character is worked into the community's design wherever possible: Kentlands has idiosyncrasy and imperfections––intentionally. Authentic variety is achieved by allowing odd, leftover lots to remain, forcing the design of a building for just that lot. We insisted that the imprecision of design sketches be reflected in the built work. It took years for the engineers to get used to not straightening every street or making every

  • 13. Big Cities Vs Small Town Research Do you prefer big city lights or a sky full of stars? Do you like to fall asleep to honking cars or no noise at all? Do you want to walk outside and smell car exhaust or freshly cut grass? Depending on what you prefer might determine if you like big cities or small towns. Big cities have some advantages but I think small towns have even more advantages that would make you want to live there. Small towns are better to live in compared to big cities. One of the biggest reasons small towns are better to live in has to do with money. The cost of living in a city compared to a small town is dramatically higher. Housing prices are very different. In a city, houses and apartments are expensive, but in a small town they are more affordable. Money...show more content... Lots of big cities have multiple schools and they all have thousands of kids that attend them. Big schools tend to have larger class sizes so it will be harder to get one on one time with your teachers. Large schools also have tryouts for sports teams and other extra curricular activities. It is harder to get involved with your school if you have to tryout for activities. In a small school you get the advantage of knowing most of the kids that go to your school. The atmosphere of a small town is more comforting than a city. Cities are noisy while towns are peaceful. Small towns have less pollution. You can walk down the street in a town and people smile and stop to talk to you. In a city people usually walk right past you without even giving a smile. People in a small town are friendly and always willing to help a community member in need. There are so many reasons why living in a small town is better than living in a city. If you want a lower cost of living, a safe place for your family to live, a chance to get involved in your community, or a comfortable place to call home then a small town is the place for you. Motivation is what causes us to act, whether it is getting a glass of water to reduce thirst or reading a book to gain knowledge. (Cherry, 2016) Motivation plays the role in everyday lives. Ones motivation to do something differs from ones feels and the type of motivation towards the action that is being done. Students who are intrinsically motivated can experience greater pleasure and emotional intimacy because being intrinsically motivated are usually positive degree feelings such as enjoyment, pleasure, satisfaction, and self–leniency. Students can be always motivated by those internal rewards from the learning itself. While for other students who are extrinsically motivated, they "may work efficiently in the short term in response to external wages and inducement , but their motivation is unlikely to sustain itself autonomously if the learning experience does not generate internal or intrinsic rewards" (ibid.22). Those students that work for extrinsic rewards are passive because if the external reinforcement isn 't available, then they have no reason to do it and they may remain stagnant with no motivation.
