Galicia (2,703,290 inhabitants), an autonomous community in Spain´s northwest, is a verdant region with an
Atlantic coastline. The catedral of regional capital Santiago de Compostela is the reputed burial place of the
biblical apostle Saint James the Great, and the destination for those following the “Camino de Santiago”
pilgrimage route. The western cliffs of Cape Finisterre were considered by the Romans to be the end of the
known world.

Our school is situated in the province of A Coruña. (A Coruña is a province and also a city)
It is the second most populated city in the autonomous community and seventeenth overall in the country.

THE TOWN
Betanzos (Galician pronunciation: [beˈtanθos]) is a municipality in the autonomous
community of Galicia in northwestern Spain in the province of A Coruña. It belongs to the
comarca of Betanzos. In Roman times Betanzos was called Carunium or Brigantium. During
the Medieval period the settlement was known as Carunio.
The town is located in a fertile valley close to the Atlantic Ocean, and it has one of the best
preserved old quarters in Galicia.

The school has around 350 students - from 3 to 18 years old – divided into
Kindergarten, Primary Education and Lower and Upper Secondary (all in the same
building).
Each classroom has an average of 25 students.
Timetable: 8,30 -14,00 from Monday to Friday and from 16,20 to 18,00 on
Tuesday afternoon for Lower and Upper Secondary Education,
(with a break from 11,00 to 11,30)
9,00 – 14,10 from Monday to Friday for Kindegarten and Primary
Education (with a break from 11,30 – 12,00 for Primary and
12 – 12,30 for Kindergarten)

School starts in the middle of September and ends in the middle of June.
Our Christmas holidays go from 21/22 December till 7/8 January
We have one week free for Easter

Every afternoon the students can attend different activities:
