9. Definisi Pariwisata
Wisata adalah kegiatan atau sebagai dari pergerakan seseorang
menuju ke, kembali dari dan selama di daerah tujuan yang bersifat
sementara dan tanpa paksaan, di luar tempat tinggal dan bekerja
kurang dari 12 bulan berturut-turut dengan tujuan tidak untuk mencari
nafkah.
Mereka yang melakukan wisata merupakan pengunjung.
Bagi pengunjung yang menginap maka dikategorikan sebagai
wisatawan.
Sedangkan bagi pengunjung yang tidak menginap dikategorikan
sebagai pengunjung harian.
Pariwisata mencakup kegiatan, pengusahaan dan usaha-usaha untuk
memenuhi kebutuhan wisatawan selama melakukan perjalanan wisata

11. Definisi Hotel
• An establisment held by proprietor as offering food, drink and sleeping
accommodation with specia contract to any traveller, able and willing to pay a
reasonable sum, who is fit to be received (Hotel Proprietor Act, 1959)
• Hotel adalah jenis akomodasi yang mempergunakan seluruh atau sebagian
bangunan untuk menyediakan jasa penginapan, makan dan minum serta jasa
lainnya bagi umum yang dikelola secara komersial
• Tamu Hotel adalah setiap orang yang menginap dan/atau mempergunakan
jasa-jasa lainnya yang ditawarkan oleh hotel. (SK Menparpostel
No.KM37/PW-340/MPPT-86)
• Kegiatan usaha hotel meliputi:
– penyediaan kamar tempat menginap
– penyediaan tempat dan pelayanan makan dan minum
– pelayanan pencucian pakaian/binatu
– penyediaan fasilitas akomodasi dan pelayanan lain, yang diperlukan bagi
penyelenggaraan kegiatan tersebut. (PP no.67 tahun 1996)
12. Origins term of Hotel
• The word hotel derives from the French hôtel
(coming from "hôte" meaning "guest"), which
referred to a French version of a townhouse or any
other building seeing frequent visitors, not a place
offering accommodation.
• In contemporary usage, hôtel has the meaning of
"hotel", and hôtel particulier is used for the old
meaning.
• The hotel owner is called hotelier

• Fasilitas akomodasi: ruang pertemuan, ruang makan dan
minum, fasilitas cucian, penukaran uang, kolam renang,
fasilitas olahraga, fasilitas kesegaran jasmani, fasilitas anak
bermain, dan pertokoan
• Pelayanan hotel: pelayanan informasi, pelayanan
telekomunikasi, pelayanan angkutan dan pelayanan
administrasi untuk keperluan bisnis.
• Tidak termasuk hotel: Losmen, Pondok Wisata, Penginapan
Remaja, Perkemahan, Wisma/Mess, Asrama Haji, Asrama

• The beginning of Hotel and Restaurant established is still
unknown.
• In the early 18 B.C travellers came from a far need to stay over
night.
• The shelter was offered, along with increasing numbers of
traveller, the concept of shelters and changed to inns. Inns
offered housing with room charged.
• In the third century, beside resting and spending the night
after the long journey, travellers also needed food and drinks.
• Under the influence of the Roman Empire, inns began
catering to the pleasure traveler in an effort to encourage
visitors.
19. World History of Hotel &
Restaurant
• The combination of inns and taverns created
concept of hotels.
• Hospitium derived from hospitality, came from
the Latin root meaning Host or Hospice.
• Hospiteium was private homes opened to the
public. In Indonesia it was called as
pasanggrahan.
• Most, unfortunately, Hospiteium had poor
reputations. It sold such attraction such as
gambling and prostitution.
• The name of hospiteium changed to hotels was
established provided accomodation, also foods
and drinks.

• Hotel Des Indes in Harmony (Jl.
Suryopranoto)
• The hotel was built in 1774 owned
by Rainer de Klerk (owner of
Gedung Arsip Nasional)
• The hotel was established in 1
May 1856
• In independent era, Bung Karno
changed the name of Hotel Des
Indes into Hotel Duta Indonesian
(HDI)

Indonesia
• Hotel Indonesia was the first stars hotel built
by the government of Indonesia in Jakarta.
• It was officialy opened in 5 Agustus 1962 by
President Soekarno to welcome Asian Games
IV on 1962.
• Nowadays, Hotel Indonesia is renovated will
be managed PT. Grand Indonesia owned by
PT Djarum Kudus for the next 30 years.
• It will be called as Hotel Indonesia –
Kempinski and the area named Grand
