1. What have you learned from your audience feedback?
The feedback that we received from our audience was both beneficial to the
group aswell as complimentary, however improvements were suggested in the
information which we collected aswell, Some of the different types of sources in
which we retrieved the audience feedback included reviews from our fellow
colleagues and conversations about our media product from social networking
sites, such for example Facebook.
The audience feedback towards our overall product, which includes the music
video, the digipak and the advert, came with both its list of praises aswell as its
list of possible improvements.
The information that we received was from 3 separate groups, each of these
provided use with a varied opinion of what an audience which focuses on the
media elements of our product, for the actual music video group 1 had praised
our narrative in our video and the quality of the thought beats used throughout
(particularly in the intro), however group 1 also thought that the video was a
little repetitive (some chorus shots), and that some very minor differences could
be seen during the ‘Jane’ narrative shots.
Group 2 however thought differently in both the praises and the improvements,
group 2 believed that the overall editing of the song or the pace of the different
shot was well fit to the changing pace of the song, they also said that
improvements were need to the narrative which was mainly just to explain more
of the significance towards it, they also made a similar point to group 1 in which
that the video was a little repetitive.
Group 3 once again chose to point out different strengths and improvements,
group 3 praised us for the mise en scene in both the setting and the clothing in
the video, however group 3 believed that more variation was needed in the band
shots (studio shots).
Overall for the music video the data that we collected was very varied which is
beneficial for our group, as we know how we have done well on a wide Varity
and how we can also improve on a wide scale.
For the digipak side of the product the collected data did not vary as much as the
music video feedback, however it was still very helpful.
Group 1 was quite neutral and not very critical of the digipak, this was shown by
the comments saying that there were not any particular strength with the
digipak and the improvements for the digipak were extremely small
(information not on spine).
Group 2 was less neutral than group 1 when it came to the strengths and the
improvements, group 2 metioned that the information and the theme of the
digipak had linked well to the song, however they said that so extra photos of the
band could have been put on the digipak so that the target audience would be
more familiar with the product because they can see their band on the digipak.
The information gained from group 3 about the digipak was very similar in both
the strengths and the improvement sections; this was mainly that the overall
theme had linked well with the song (Diary effect) and that the digipak could
have had a few more images on it.
2. Overall for the digipak side of the product I believe that the improvements
sections from all of the groups were very beneficial to our group, it was
beneficial in the way that we now realize the improvements that we can now
make to our product, for example we can now add more photos of the band to
the product and we have already added the little bits of information to the
digipak to correct what group 1 originally pointed out.
And finally the advert side of the product and once again the 3 groups had given
their thoughts on the media aspects of the advert.
Group 1 thought that the advert had linked very well to the digipak both in the
colour themes and the diary writing theme, they also said that the audience was
simple and effective, however they did comment on a small and very fixable
error which was that some of the writing at the top of the advert was a little too
small for some people to read.
Group 2 however did not put anything down for the advert so could you please
make something up please Alex.
Group 3 on the other hand stated that the advert matches the music video and
the digipak (diary theme), they also commented on our use of font on the advert
saying that it was very striking and very eye-catching for the target audience and
the overall public, however some of the improvements that they stated include
that some extra reviews (fake) could have been put on to take up some extra
space on the product and to make it look more realistic , they also said that we
could have chosen some different colour schemes for the advert to make it
darker and making fit better with the genre.
Overall I believe that the feedback for the advert was once again very helpful for
improving this part of the product, but once again the improvements were very
minor and very easy to fix and improve.
Anything else you can think of for this please just put it in.
