EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
2016 - date Process Safety Principal Consultant and HSE Adviser on the JGPC Gas Development
Project, Jazan, Saudi Arabia. This is an air separation project to produce oxygen and
nitrogen gases for Saudi Aramco via a large multi-train air separate unit. The oxygen will
principally act as a key feedstock for a new IGCC power plant, while the nitrogen will be
used on the new Saudi Aramco refinery. HSE Manager role within the JGPC Project
Management Team based in London, UK. The position involved providing specialist HSE
technical oversight, technical safety management and occupational safety on HSE
activities within the project during the engineering and construction phases.
2014 - 2015 Process Safety and HSE Engineer on the LUKOIL Mishrif FFD and Yamama sour oil
development in Southern Iraq, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The projects
involved the development of production facilities and infrastructure to meet a target of
1.2MMBOPD from the West Qurna 2 oil field in Southern Iraq. The field consists of two
primary reservoirs, Mishrif (sweet) and Yamama (sour) which were developed as separate
projects. Technical and Process Safety Manager/Advisor client role during the Yamama
FEED development project and a Process Safety Advisor role during the Mishrif FFD
detail design development. Responsible for managing all aspects of the projects process
safety studies. Supervision of FEED contractor Safety Engineers and consultants.
2010 - 2014 Senior Process Safety Advisor and acting HSE Manager within the 25% sour Alhosn
Gas Shah Gas Development Project Management Team in Abu Dhabi and site. The
position involves providing specialist HSE technical oversight on project HSE activities
within the FEED, detailed design teams through to commissioning. The management of
several Home Office based and Site Based Process Safety Engineers who provided
technical safety during concept evaluation followed by process and detailed design
development. The development of the Bow-Ties / identification of threats and controls
through feed, detailed design and construction phase in a manner to allow Company to
transition into the Operations phase. Also ensured project compliance with Corporate and
ADNOC HSE Management Systems.
2006 - 2010 Head of EP PAD (Operations) Safety Engineering on the Kashagan Experimental
Programme. The project covered the design, construction installation and operation of a
650,000 bopd oil and gas field situated offshore in the North East Caspian. Responsible
for the identification, assessment and management of HSE risks through the application of
the Hazards and Effects Management Process (HEMP) including QRA, HAZOP, HAZID,

2005 to 2006 Lead Process and Safety Engineer at Borealis Polyolefins Refinery in Kallo Belgium.
Managing the development of a FEED engineering package for the site back up flare on
the brownfield site. Process and safety upgrade to the Olefins dehydrogenation reactors
regeneration cycle. Conceptual evaluation of a project to allow incineration of VOC
gaseous effluent in a Waste Heat Boiler. Debottlenecking process safety studies on the
existing olefins and polymerisation plants emergency relief systems.
2000 to 2005 Lead Process and Safety Engineer at Procter and Gambles Operations Engineering
Dept. Belgium. Managing the Process, HSE and project management of a revamp of the
site palm oil refinery (API standards) to improve energy efficiency, process safety and
product quality. Other projects include; process simulation, incinerator fire fighting system,
debottlenecking of distillation columns, improved oil/water separating. Implementation of a
site wide noise reduction program. Operator training.
1994 to 2000 Lead process and safety engineer at Chemviron Carbon, Brussels. Activated Carbon
supplier and EPC. Managing all aspects of the process and safety design of highly
automated activated carbon adsorption plants. These included a Kazakhstan skid
mounted unit for sour gas removal from natural gas using amine purification (DEA).
