I am happy to provide both personal and professional recommendations for Paul Cook-Giles. I have
supervised Paul for most of his twenty-three years with Balboa, through multiple company sales and
acquisitions. A corporate decision to outsource our IT development and support means that we will no
longer be working together, but I am confident that he will prove an asset to any company that employs
him. If conditions change, I would not hesitate to re-hire him.
Paul has consistently been a high performer and a solid, contributing member of the Data Management
team. His on-time task completion ensures that his customer’s needs are met, our team is supported and
larger projects are completed as scheduled.
Paul’s technical expertise with MS Access, VBA, and SQL query language made him a valuable part of
our team. Paul proactively makes available his expertise and enthusiasm, seeking opportunities to
optimize employee time and productivity through automation of repetitive processes. He built, and
continued to enhance, dozens of applications that are business process backbones for their departments.
In requirement meetings and enhancement review sessions, Paul actively engaged with his customers,
listening for opportunities for application and process improvement, and recommending additional
changes or tools that would assist in their daily efforts.
Paul focuses to deliver work that is effective and fulfills requirements the first time, to minimize repetitive
cycles of testing, modifying, and retesting. Paul recognizes that his customer's time is valuable, and that
hours spent testing are hours that are taken from their daily workload.
