Report on Summer Reading Program 2014 for Kansas City, Kansas Public Library system.

Education

• Encourage youth to read throughout the summer
• Increase participation levels to reach at least 10% of
youth in Wyandotte County, KS
• Partner with more summer school and youth
community organizations
• Increase community awareness of the program
• Increase consistency to present a quality program at
all branches

• Expands the reading experience
• Encourages family involvement
• Fizz, Boom, Read themed programs on topics
such as nature, chemistry, robotics, weather,
astronomy, space, and ecology.

• Activities included hiking, archery, journaling, science
experiments, orienteering, fishing, and teambuilding.
