This document describes an electronic toll collection system using RFID technology. It consists of an ATmega328 microcontroller, LCD display, RFID reader and tags, motor driver IC and DC motor. The RFID tag is read and the stored balance is checked. If sufficient, the balance is deducted and the motor opens the gate. This system allows automatic toll collection without stopping, reducing congestion. It provides transparency while decreasing operating costs for toll operators.

CONCLUSION
3. Millions of driver pass
through toll booth paying
toll tax.
Manual process is too
much time consuming, so
we go electronic toll
plaza.
One such way of
automation is using RFID.
4. The design of toll plaza consists of following
components:
ATmega328 Micro Controller
Liquid Crystal Display(LCD)
RFID Reader & RFID Tag
Keypad
Crystal Oscillator
DC Motor & Motor Driver IC
+5V Power Supply
8. • 8-bit AVR RISC-based microcontroller
• 32KB ISP flash memory
• 1024B EEPROM
• 2KB SRAM
• 23 general purpose I/O lines
• 32 general purpose working registers
• three flexible timer/counters with compare modes
• internal and external interrupts
• serial programmable USART
• a byte-oriented 2-wire serial interface
• SPI serial port
• a 6-channel 10-bit A/D converter
• programmable watchdog timer with internal oscillator
• five software selectable power saving modes
• 1.8-5.5 volts
9. An RFID reader is a device that is
used to interrogate an RFID tag. The
reader has an antenna that emits radio
waves; the tag responds by sending
back its data.
An RFID tag is a microchip combined
with an antenna in a compact package,
the packaging is structured to allow the
RFID tag to be attached to an object to
be tracked.
This system depends on three devices
Tag: Transponder
RF Reader: Antenna

10. •LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen is an electronic display
module and find a wide range of applications. A 16x2 LCD
display is very basic module and is very commonly used in
various devices and circuits.
• In this application, RS =7, RW=GND, EN=6, D4= 5, D5=4,
D6=3, D7=2.
11. • Here, We are use L293D type Driver IC
to operate DC Motor. In this Input1 &
Input2 is connected to 8 & 9 number
pin of ATmega328. Trigger, outs1 and
PWR is connected to +5V supply.
• Wide Supply Voltage Range : 4.5V to
36V.
• Separate Input-Logic Supply
• Internal ESD Protection
• Thermal Shutdown
• High-Noise-Immunity Inputs
• Output Current 1A per Channel
• Peak Output Current 2A per Channel
• Output Clamp Diodes for Inductive
Transient Suppression
12. • The USB provides an easy method of
connecting USB to TTL convertor on
PC via a USB port.
• USB 1.1 and 2.0 compatible
• Port powered - no external power
needed
• Supports 300 baud to 115,200 baud
rates
• 3 feet (1m) cable for convenience
• Easy to install included drivers
• 4pins TTL for TXD, RXD, GND & 5V.
• Transmit/Receive LED indicators

15. ROAD USERS
Increases user convenience from payment without
stops.
Less Traffic Congestion.
TOLL OPERATORS
Less operating cost.
Better audit control.
GOVERNMENT/SOCIETY
Transparency of Toll Transactions.
Reduces Revenue Leakages.
16. RFID Technology is the best technology among all
automated technology
Implementation of this technology will dramatically
decrease the traffic at Toll juncture.
RFID has low cost, and high durability makes it suitable in
