EMPLOYMENT
Applied Materials – Sub Electrical Test/ April 2015 – July 2015
Assembly of Gold Boxes, PCB boards, cables and other related build requirements. Use of Method
Sheets, Drawings and Schematics. Testing of Electronic Equipment with associated Test Procedures,
Test fixtures and Test Equipment. Fiber optics hook-up, cable plug ins and computer programs
run to verify correct operation of built Gold Boxes and other Electronics Assemblies.
Programmable chips used and tested on Main Computer boards as well.
Boondocker, LLC Electronics Assembly/ Oct. 2014 –Feb
2015
Electronic Assembler for Boondocker, Turbo manufacturer. Electronics assembly required for
Control Box, part placement and soldering, wire harnesses hand made for each individual type of
Turbo control box made for Razor, Arctic Cat and Polaris brands.
Curtiss Wright – Nuclear Division – Scientech - Repair Div./ Feb. 2010 - Sept. 2014
Job descriptions included inspections and documenting incoming power supplies ready for work
orders. All nuclear related power supplies needed proper paperwork using Nuclear Safety Related
Check sheets when appropriate, parts ordered, and all electrolytic capacitors replaced with the same
or similar capacitors. Date codes were always an issue, and preferably using capacitors within a 2
year date of manufacture. Other repairs were done as needed and found with pre-test,
troubleshooting, and visual inspection. Often handles or terminal blocks came in broken and were
replaced with like for like or suitable replacement. Both linear and switching power supplies were
worked on, examples include, GE Power Supplies, Lambda, UPMD’s, Bailey and Foxboro. Manuals,
drawings and schematics were available for most power supplies, and were used for reference and
3. trouble shooting, and parts ordering. Soldering and Unsoldering, disassembly and re-assembly were
done to repair. Work was done closely with the Engineers and the Quality Assurance program as
needed for Nuclear Safety Related, for parts ordering and directions. Refurbish work was done using
IPC Certified techniques, following SOP’s and under the QAM-1 guidelines. Power supplies were
pre-tested and prepared for burn in, using the appropriate ATP. Basic test procedures included
looking for power supply to turn on, use correct AC input, wire hook up, and looking for the rated
DC output voltage. Power supplies were tested for Over Voltage protection circuits to shut down
power supplies, as rated. Tests were looking for stability in output with fluctuations applied to AC
Input. Load Regulations and Varied Currents were used with Load supplies. Test equipment used
included DMM,s hand held or desk topFluke 8840A, Analog Oscilloscope, Sencore LC103 capacitor
tester and Amp meters. Part of my job description also included being on the Safety Committee.
VTCU Corp., Pocatello, ID – Quality Assurance Dept. / March 2009 – Nov. 2009
Duties included understanding and implementing ISO standards for plant manufacturing methods
and operations, reading and interpreting engineering drawings and customer specifications from sales
department. Used product catalog cuts and read name plates to verify incoming materials. Able to
follow check sheets for QA final controls testing of transformer junction boxes. Used DMM to test
correct operation of form “C” contacts for Liquid Level gauges, Winding temp. gauges and Oil temp.
gauges, Sudden Pressure Relief Devices with seal-in-relays, and Pressure Relief Devices. Controls
testing included wiring up shop’s power supply for both AC and DC power to appropriate terminals
in junction box to test operation of LTC motor controls and tap changing positions, fan operation
for radiators, and made sure relays were engaging as required. Controls testing also included using
ratio meter to record and verify bushing CT’s for correct ratios and mA readings, verifying that each
CT was wired correctly to CT terminal in junction box per drawings. Also, used testing tools such as
Megger and Hi-potential AC meter. Other duties included verifying that Nitrogen systems, pressure
regulators, pressure gauges and alarms were installed and worked correctly.
NUS Instruments, Idaho Falls, ID – Electronics Assembly/ May 2006 – May 2007
Duties included reading engineering drawings, following manufacturing instructions, training and
IPC certification in hand soldering and desoldering, wire stripping and crimping, wire harness
assembly, verifying electronic components, preparation of parts and understanding of placement
schematics for stuffing circuit boards, peer inspection of assembled products and review of proper
paper work for jobs.
Various local restaurants, Swan Valley and Idaho Falls, ID –Food Service/July 2000 – March 09
Indian Motorcycles, Gilroy, CA – Mechanical Assembly/ Sept. 1999 – July 2000
Duties included proper usage of hand tools and power tools for assembly sections ranging from
Tapping pre-drilled motorcycle frames to installing shocks, struts, belt drive guard covers, installing
gas tanks and turn signal lights and wiring. Participated in Final Quality Control Inspection of Indian
Motorcycles before warehouse storage. Assembly line production required teamwork and the ability
to help in stations adjoining personal workspace.
