3. INTRODUCTION
• Readymade garments were started in the economic year 1976-1977 to
contribute in the Bangladesh economy.
• In RMG sector, there was happened a great conflict between garments
labors’ and garments’ owners’ in August’2010 which leads to more than
100 garment factories halted production in August’2010
• Recent continuing conflict situation in different garment factories creates
the threats to its existence
• The workers of RMG in different industries started to create violence in the
form of processions, vandalism, blockading the road
• About 140 garments factories were closed due to conflict.
