Neighborhood Inequality
I think Integrating mix income neighborhood would definitely reduce some inequality in the U.S. such as environmental, racial, class, and so on.
another way to alleviate these disparities could be dealing with contextual factors that causes health risk in individual in the first place. For instance, we
can change lunches in school system to be more healthy, but that doesn't change the fact the risk factors in neighborhood level in effecting the health of
the children in the long run. It's not just behavioral fix of habits it's structural factors that make it harder for people from lower SES to change. Another
way is maybe redistributing resources equally. If resources e.g money are disturbed equally in neighborhood it can reduce risks that

The village that I live in is called MerricK . Merrick is a hamlet in Nassau County, Long Island on the South Shore. This village is 35 miles from
New York and one expressway exit from Jones Beach. The name "Merrick" is taken from Meroke, the name (meaning peaceful) of the Algonquian
tribe . The first people that lived here are the Merokee Indians that farmed and fished in the area. In 1650, a Reverend Denton moved his congregation
to the area from Stamford, Conn., and founded the Town of Merrick. They were drawn by the fertile soil and the Meadow Brook– then a wide
rushing stream, now a small trickle paralleling the parkway that took its name. Merrick has a total area of 5.2 square miles (13 km2), of which 4.2

The houses in South Merrick are selling for close to a million dollars or more because the close proximity to the water opposed to the houses sold
in North Merrick which are selling in 500'. The architectural styles of the houses vary: central hall colonials, split levels, high ranches, wide line
ranches, small capes, white stucco Spanish ranches. The crime rate in Merrick is very low. Few times I forgot the car's doors wide open or even the
engine running for couples of hours until my husband came home and everything was perfectly fine. The lecture that followed after it is another story.
Another characteristic of Merrick is the fact that a large majority of its residents choose to grow their families in a town where they spent their
childhood. The surroundings are beautiful. Well kept properties, a willow bordered pond where duck–feeding is allowed, tennis courts and baseball
fields run by the Town of Hempstead are nearby, as are a swimming pool and indoor ice rink run by Nassau County. There are four synagogues in town
– two Conservative, one Reform and one Orthodox – and seven churches – two Catholic, one Episcopal, one Baptist, one Methodist, one Presbyterian
and a newly completed Greek Orthodox Church topped by a copper dome. In 2004 me and my husband decided to buy a house. We were living in
Queens at that time. Finding the perfect neighborhood was challenging.

My Neighborhood
There are various influences in everyone's lives while growing up. I believe the greatest of these influences is the neighborhood you grew up in. I
grew up in a quite large, welcoming neighborhood. While living in this neighborhood, I was outgoing and remarkably talkative. Making friends
became second nature to me. Playing outdoors from sunrise to sundown playing sports or exploring the outdoors with my friends became a daily
routine for me. I was outgoing, talkative, and active. I believe this is the result of the neighborhood I grew up in. Growing up in a massive
neighborhood magnificent. My neighborhood was flooded with kids around my age to hang out with. Occupying the edge of this neighborhood was
a large park where the neighborhood's kids and I would spend most of our time eliminating their boredom. When this park would not satisfy our
needs, there were vast amounts of open fields available for our amusement. In this field, the neighborhood kids and I had various uses such as playing
soccer, football, or even racing. This neighborhood ensured I would never be bored. In this neighborhood, I developed into an outgoing, very talkative
kid. In this neighborhood, I felt as if I became a pure extrovert. I believe that growing up in this neighborhood became an immense influence on my
personality. Experts say neighborhoods influence various characteristics of developing children and teens. According to Jeanne Brooks–Gunn professor
of child development at Teachers College et

Essay about Dealing with Neighbors
Home is a place that most people consider their haven, where they can relax after a hard days work, enjoy being with family, and spend the weekends
and summers outside. At the same time, being part of the neighborhood and getting to know the people who live around you can also make a
neighborhood enjoyable. However, when there are certain neighbors who insist on making life difficult, learning to deal with these rude neighbors can
make the situation a little easier to bear.
Neighbors often borrow things from each other, which can be anything from a grocery item to something of greater value. While some things do not
need replacing, other things such as tools or appliances definitely need to be returned. When a neighbor keeps the...show more content...
This can really be a problem and cause hard feelings. Therefore, bringing it to their attention and asking them to refrain from letting their animal roam
free is usually the proper thing to do. Asking them to clean up their pet's mess and thanking them in advance is another way of getting the message
across.
Noise is sometimes an issue with neighbors who live next door, especially when it occurs in the wee hours of the night. Loud music that can be
heard all the way across the street or even outside of the home is very disrespectful, especially when everyone is trying to sleep. The only choice is
to get dressed, knock on the neighbor's door, and explain to them that the noise is so loud that it is keeping you and your family awake. Even if you
wait until the next morning, it is still important to relay the message in a courtly fashion.
Many neighbors will perhaps have parties from time to time, yard sales or even other family members who may visit. However, it is up to the
neighbor to make sure your property is not used for a parking lot, or that your car, driveway or mailbox is not blocked. While asking in advance as a
favor is one thing, taking it for granted that it is "okay", and having it happen often, is being rude. At the same time, being aggressive, demanding and
causing a scene could perhaps be the beginning of a feud. Instead, phoning the

Neighborhood Sociology
Neighborhoods are defined as a community where a group of people live and interact with each other. A place where children are born, raise, play,
educate and where friendship also begin. In other words, a place which offers schools, church, library, museum, park, etc. where adults and kids meet
and socialize. However, some neighborhood can affect your family either in the bad or good way. That is why where you chose to live actually matter
because where you stay can be where drugs are sold, or where gangs and criminals commit a crime. In this case, scientific evidence has shown how
neighborhoods affect families and children at different stages of life. Exposure to good neighborhoods increases college attendance, high graduation
rate and decrease

My Neighborhood
When I tell other students from New York City that I live in Bensonhurst, they often tell me they have never heard of it. Often, I have never heard of
the neighborhood they live in, even though we all live in the same city. I think we all live in and interact in our respective bubbles, and besides the
periods we spend at work or school, we tend to keep ourselves exclusive to people outside of them. There is nothing wrong with being selective with
who you interact with, but those self–isolating behaviors encourage ignorance, especially during periods of rapid change in the neighborhood.
My neighborhood is actually very aesthetically pleasing. The name of my neighborhood, Bensonhurst, is actually shortened from
"Bensonhurst–by–the–Sea," which is what a developer named the resort neighborhood in order to sell more beachfront property. The aforementioned
sea is the Atlantic Ocean, though the sandy "bay" almost every avenue in the neighborhood has in its street name (e.g. Bay Parkway) has been paved
over to make roads and sidewalks (Frishberg). Still, there are remnants of its coastal–retreat past; there are benches, trees, walkways, and parks right
near the ocean. There are also playgrounds by every elementary school, and a city park or green space if there are no elementary schools right nearby.
Backyards, privately–owned plots of nature, also play an important role in my community. Most families in my neighborhood have backyards, front
yards, or both, and place value in

My Neighborhood Essay
Where you grow up decides what you are going to be for the rest of your life. To describe the neighborhood that I grew up in, a lot had to do with
the environment that was around us. I grew up with my brother who taught me a lot about how to behave around people and at school. Anyways
very early on in our childhood we became best friends with the neighbors down the street "the Johnson's". My good friend was Louie who is a year
younger than me and my brother George hung out with Riley who was a year older than him. I was better friends with Louie than George was
with Riley, our parents were also good friends, but I spent almost all my summer days, and most weekdays after school at their house. Me and
Louie played everything and did just about everything that kids did. We both had big imaginations and we both liked to adventure. We lived in a
very kid friendly neighborhood due to the park behind my house which was only separated by a forest. We built all sorts of forts and came up with
so many games around my pond which in total is the size about two football fields. My Dad and I make a rink every year out on my pond and both
of our family's play hockey so that is always fun and competitive. We slowly, as kids do, got more mature and our games became less of a made up
joke but more as a project around the neighborhood. Growing up in the type of neighborhood that I did really made it easy for me to be successful, I
never had anything in my neighborhood that could

Neighbourhood Study Essay
This Neighbourhood Study aims to examine the demographics of Hillingdon Primary Care Trust (HPCT) such as age, gender, ethnicity, social groups
in relation to the prevention of obesity. An insight into the prevalence of obesity as well as the causes and its effects shall be evaluated. Public health
strategies regarding the prevention of obesity and its effects in comparison to Government strategies shall be addressed. The nurse's role as an educator
in relation to this public health issue, strategies formulated by HPCT to prevent obesity and how it focuses on other diseases associated with obesity
shall be discussed. The following section gives a definition of obesity, health education and health prevention.

According to the National Audit Office (2007) the National Health Service (NHS) spends around ВЈ4.2 billion a year in curing obesity and its
associated illnesses.
The Hillingdon Profile (2008) put forward that out of 149 local authorities in England, Hillingdon is classified as the 58th most deprived in terms of
income deprivation affecting children. Hillingdon is also one of the least diverse in terms of ethnicity (appendices 1–3). In 2008 the number of obese
cases recorded by HPCT amongst adolescents was 6.9%. In comparison with England it was estimated that 14% of boys and 17% of girls aged
between 2 and 15 were obese. The National Institute of Clinical Health and Excellence (2006) propound that Asian children are four times more likely
to be obese than children of other ethnic groups. In Central Hillingdon Asians and Afro Caribbeans make up most of the population and have a higher
percentage of obesity.
Causes of obesity include lifestyle choices such as diets, lack of physical activity, psychological, environmental, genetics, medical conditions, effects of
medication, lack of awareness and its implications as well as lack of education in the community. According to Sethi & Vidal
–Puig (2007) there is a
high risk of developing a wide range of health problems including type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, infertility and osteoarthritis when obese and puts

  • 4. Essay about Dealing with Neighbors Home is a place that most people consider their haven, where they can relax after a hard days work, enjoy being with family, and spend the weekends and summers outside. At the same time, being part of the neighborhood and getting to know the people who live around you can also make a neighborhood enjoyable. However, when there are certain neighbors who insist on making life difficult, learning to deal with these rude neighbors can make the situation a little easier to bear. Neighbors often borrow things from each other, which can be anything from a grocery item to something of greater value. While some things do not need replacing, other things such as tools or appliances definitely need to be returned. When a neighbor keeps the...show more content... This can really be a problem and cause hard feelings. Therefore, bringing it to their attention and asking them to refrain from letting their animal roam free is usually the proper thing to do. Asking them to clean up their pet's mess and thanking them in advance is another way of getting the message across. Noise is sometimes an issue with neighbors who live next door, especially when it occurs in the wee hours of the night. Loud music that can be heard all the way across the street or even outside of the home is very disrespectful, especially when everyone is trying to sleep. The only choice is to get dressed, knock on the neighbor's door, and explain to them that the noise is so loud that it is keeping you and your family awake. Even if you wait until the next morning, it is still important to relay the message in a courtly fashion. Many neighbors will perhaps have parties from time to time, yard sales or even other family members who may visit. However, it is up to the neighbor to make sure your property is not used for a parking lot, or that your car, driveway or mailbox is not blocked. While asking in advance as a favor is one thing, taking it for granted that it is "okay", and having it happen often, is being rude. At the same time, being aggressive, demanding and causing a scene could perhaps be the beginning of a feud. Instead, phoning the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 6. My Neighborhood When I tell other students from New York City that I live in Bensonhurst, they often tell me they have never heard of it. Often, I have never heard of the neighborhood they live in, even though we all live in the same city. I think we all live in and interact in our respective bubbles, and besides the periods we spend at work or school, we tend to keep ourselves exclusive to people outside of them. There is nothing wrong with being selective with who you interact with, but those self–isolating behaviors encourage ignorance, especially during periods of rapid change in the neighborhood. My neighborhood is actually very aesthetically pleasing. The name of my neighborhood, Bensonhurst, is actually shortened from "Bensonhurst–by–the–Sea," which is what a developer named the resort neighborhood in order to sell more beachfront property. The aforementioned sea is the Atlantic Ocean, though the sandy "bay" almost every avenue in the neighborhood has in its street name (e.g. Bay Parkway) has been paved over to make roads and sidewalks (Frishberg). Still, there are remnants of its coastal–retreat past; there are benches, trees, walkways, and parks right near the ocean. There are also playgrounds by every elementary school, and a city park or green space if there are no elementary schools right nearby. Backyards, privately–owned plots of nature, also play an important role in my community. Most families in my neighborhood have backyards, front yards, or both, and place value in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. My Neighborhood Essay Where you grow up decides what you are going to be for the rest of your life. To describe the neighborhood that I grew up in, a lot had to do with the environment that was around us. I grew up with my brother who taught me a lot about how to behave around people and at school. Anyways very early on in our childhood we became best friends with the neighbors down the street "the Johnson's". My good friend was Louie who is a year younger than me and my brother George hung out with Riley who was a year older than him. I was better friends with Louie than George was with Riley, our parents were also good friends, but I spent almost all my summer days, and most weekdays after school at their house. Me and Louie played everything and did just about everything that kids did. We both had big imaginations and we both liked to adventure. We lived in a very kid friendly neighborhood due to the park behind my house which was only separated by a forest. We built all sorts of forts and came up with so many games around my pond which in total is the size about two football fields. My Dad and I make a rink every year out on my pond and both of our family's play hockey so that is always fun and competitive. We slowly, as kids do, got more mature and our games became less of a made up joke but more as a project around the neighborhood. Growing up in the type of neighborhood that I did really made it easy for me to be successful, I never had anything in my neighborhood that could Get more content on HelpWriting.net
