In our previous newsletter we mentioned
about TRACER teaming up with On The
Tools as part of our extensive TRACER

Consequently, we are very excited to
share with you our next videos and
conclude the end of this campaign. Our
second video focuses on the TRACER

TRACER was selected based on their digital section,
meaning our content performed well on their website
and social media. Consequently, winning the award
demonstrates a great approval with tradespeople who
are regularly using these products on a daily basis.
This is a great testament to TRACER’s product quality
and performance and a celebration of our marking
solutions.

6. SMART 63MM BI-METAL
PURPLE SERIES BLADE
First up we have the 63mm Bi-Metal Purple
Series blade, designed for cutting wood, nails
and non-ferrous metals. This blade offers
universal cutting up to 42mm deep and is
recognised as a ‘safe’ option for cutting timber
with hidden nails. So, when you’re faced with a
timber cutting scenario where you’re unsure If the
timber is nail infested, a standard wood blade’s teeth
would break or wear very quickly when it comes into
contact with a screw or nail.
However, this blade is equally as effective at cutting
through timber as it is cutting through nails. This
means that you can go about your timber cutting
with the confidence that if you were to hit a nail,
it’ll power on through without damaging the blade.
THE ULTIMATE TEST
It’s very unlikely that you will need to cut through
250+ nails in one go, but it’s good to know you’re
using a tool that can. For this reason, we put the
SMART 63mm Purple Series blade
to the test and clearly, 250 nails
weren’t its limit.
And the results…The 63mm
Bi-Metal Purple Series blade
successfully cut through 250
nails in under 7 minutes, and
more importantly the teeth
showed virtually no sign of wear!
This experiment clearly shows the
power of the blade in comparison to similar
tools on the market. It’s no wonder why this is an
award-winning blade! So, if you’re looking for an
affordable but effective tool that will quickly destroy
nails, this SMART blade is perfect for the job.
Top tip: Give your blade additional life when cutting
nails and steel by reducing the speed by 2 settings,
while moving the blade side to side in a hack saw
motion. This will help to spread the load across the
teeth which will reduce the friction and wear.
The 63mm Bi-Metal blade is part of the award-
winning range of Purple Series blades, designed to
give the ultimate long-life Bi-Metal cut! The purple
titanium coating is designed to reduce the heat build-
up and protect the blade when cutting through nails,
copper pipes, even screws! Therefore, the sharpness
of the tooth is maintained.

SMART
CHALLENGE
BATTLE OF THE TOOLS
Loved by all, multi-tools are a must in any tradesperson’s toolbox. Whether you need to cut wood, nails,
or access holes, the ability of the multi-tool is endless. But with such variety of tools available and many
claiming to achieve the same task, how can you tell the amazing from the mediocre? For this reason, we
put our SMART blades to the ultimate test to analyse our blade’s speed, strength and endurance. Let’s find
out how well they performed!

SMART 75MM BOX CUTTER
Cutting holes for electrical boxes can be a frustrating
job if you don’t have the proper tools. Cut the hole
too small and you have to recut it. Cut it too big and
you’ve got another problem on your hands. Almost
all construction projects require socket box holes, so
ensuring you have the right tool to get the job done
quickly and neatly is beneficial.
A common tool to use for these scenarios are drywall
saws, which are somewhat effective but far more
time consuming and can sometimes be inaccurate.
For example, a standard drywall saw will achieve far
less neat cuts which can damage the surrounding
area if the edges are too ragged. Plus, drywall saws
can be fiddly to manoeuvre and don’t provide
much control. Therefore, greatly increasing
the risk of cutting oversized holes.
This where the SMART Box Cutter
comesintoitsown.Designedtocutout
single socket boxes in plasterboard,
the Box Cutter is the ultimate multi-
tool accessory for cutting out single
socket boxes in plasterboard. With
very minimal effort, the SMART Box
Cutter provides clean and precise cuts,
even in confined spaces.
THE ULTIMATE TEST
The Box Cutter battled it out against the drywall saw
and the champion was clear. We used a single sheet
of plasterboard to cut out two sockets, one using the
Box Cutter and the other using a drywall saw.
Overall, the speed of the Box Cutter was phenomenal
in comparison to the drywall saw and delivered an
exceptionally clean and precise cut. Although the
drywall saw did effectively cut an access hole, it
required a lot more time to ensure a controlled and
accurate cut. However, thanks to the multi-tool the
Box Cutter was able to rapidly plunge straight into
the plasterboard, perfect for achieving fast and
accurate cuts.
Although the box cutter may only cut a single
hole, it’s just as effective for cutting
double or triple holes. Simply line the
box cutter next to the single hole and
cut again.
The 75mm Box Cutter is part of the
Trade Range, guaranteed to offer you
great value for money and impressive
cutting performance. The range extends
to offer a complete multi-tool solution, with
just about every type of blade and accessory for
the multi-tool!
Amongst the range are a number of SMART
innovations and award-winning timber blades to
ensure no matter what your trade, you can always
work SMARTer not harder!
