B
oettcher has played a decisive
role in giving strength to
various industries with
their diverse products and
printing industry is one of them.
It is the perfect synergy of
rubber rollers, rubber covering,
printing blankets and printing
chemicals.
“For generations, we have
impressively demonstrated this in
offset printing, where we supply rollers for
nearly every type of press. This not only applies
to the many different sheet fed presses, but to
changing machine configurations in newspaper
printing and for long runs in commercial web
printing. We apply the same high standards to
rollers for other processes and applications.
New fluoro-elastomeric rollers from Boettcher
are used in digital printing. We develop laser
engraved sleeves for flexographic printing. As
a prominent high-tech supplier of rubber and
PU materials, we occupy a top position world
wide,” shares Prabhat Kumar, product &
marketing manager, Boettcher India.
“Not only roller, the formulations for our
printing chemicals are developed in close
coordination with the press manufacturers
and certified for use by Fogra Boettcher. Top
printing blanket are built to our own exacting
specifications and brought to market maturity
in sophisticated test procedures. Whether in
offset printing, digital printing, flexography
or rotogravure printing, our materials are
convincing in quality and unbeaten in longevity.
All this equates to improved economic viability
for the user,” he adds.
“At Boettcher, we seek to establish a relation
in direct partnership between your organisation
and our team, which makes professional
performance possible for both you and us.
That’s how we developed until today, remaining
an innovative name rich in tradition that
stands more than ‘285 years’ of
continuous innovation, because
of which a constant dynamic
between innovation and tradition has
developed. We translate values and
professional ethics, which have grown
through many generations, into ever
better solutions to the evolving demands of our
customers,” adds Prabhat.
Boettcher at drupa
“Our association with drupa is age old. In
continuation with our culture of innovation,
at drupa, we are coming with some new
development for India & rest of the world,”
tells Prabhat.These include:
New compound series for mixed mode
printing and low-energy UV: The new
compound series 277 30, 377 38 for ink
rollers and 135 25 for dampening rollers
achieved excellent resistance to common low-
energy UV colours, and even against a lot of
very aggressive UV inks for the area of non-
absorbent substrates.
Böttcherin UV-Chameleon: Is a wash that
is capable of dissolving the various UV inks
effectively. Inspite of its flame point of 79°C, it
evaporates very quickly on the printing blanket.
This prevents the accumulation of residual
moisture on the blanket surface after washing.
It is also suitable for combi-printing with
conventional inks and UV inks.
New cleaning gel for UV printing:
BöttcherPro Cleanfix-UV is a special
cleaning gel for inking rollers in UV printing,
which removes this kind of residues and
restores the original roughness and colour
pick-up of the rollers
Böttcherin Hybrid: It is suitable for
both manual cleaning and use in automatic
washing systems, if printing with hybrid or
conventional inks.
What next?
Boettcher group is growing strongly in India
and the world over by continuously innovating
and coming out with product as solution of
un-met needs, in this ever changing printing
demands and dynamics. “It is heartening
to see that life and vibrancy in the Indian
printing & packaging industry is mainly driven
by rapid urbanisation, investment in housing
& construction, health care and plastic.
Packaging is expected to grow at 15% and
India Newspaper (Web-Fed) led by B-City of
India at 10-12%. With Boettcher as brand to
reckon with, we have full potential to catch
the growth and tap the untapped market,”
tells Prabhat. To become an economic player
to reckon with, Boettcher as a group is also
diversifying with its product in other growing
sector like packaging, handrail, heavy industry
(steel, textile, wood etc.). “This diversification
will help us to sustain, grow and meet the
coming economic challenges,” he says.
On Boettcher India…
Boettcher India, since its inception, has
grown leaps and bound by overcoming many
challenges. “In a thrust for growth and
expansion, and to provide cost advantage,
reduce lead time with same quality in Indian
market, we started with chemical blending
plant and tube roller production facilities
for sheet fed presses. Now in the second
leg of our journey, enthused by the good
feedback of local rubber roller production
from all across the country and to meet
the ever changing demand and challenges
of printing and packaging Industry, we are
planning to set up of a full-fledged roller
production plant facility this financial year.
This will cater not only printing industry but
also packaging, flexo, rotogravure, along with
industrial sector,” concludes Prabhat.
