Welcome Back!
Having started in January this
year, Olivia is the newest
addition to the marketing team undertaking the ‘Content
Marketing Executive’ role. Olivia will be utilising her wealth
of talent in all forms of content production and marketing
to support our social media efforts and deliver a constant
stream of high-quality content to our 42,000+ following.

HELLO! Allan also joined the company
in January as the ‘Key Account
Manager’ for the North Wales / England region. Being
based up north, Allan is very well placed to better serve
our customers in this region. Allan is very well known and
experienced in the industry and will be a great asset to the
sales team and an excellent support to customers in the
region.

As we move into a new decade, we’d like to thank you
for your custom over the years we’ve worked together
and we look forward to continually and mutually
growing our businesses through the next 10 years and
beyond. For ROYD, 2020 marks the 10-year anniversary
since the launch of SMART multi-tool blades and
accessories. Looking back, we are immensely proud of
our journey and are very pleased to have played a part
in your successes too. We now find ourselves very well
positioned with three unique and strong brands and an
ever-growing team now counting 24 employees. With
new additions to both the Sales and Marketing teams as
recently as January and four new starters during 2019,
we are now better prepared to support you than ever
before.
With this in mind we are excited to get 2020 fully
underway, with our biggest marketing campaigns
ever and an abundance of interesting new product

Since being acquired by ROYD Tool Group in 2018,

WHAT ARE INFLUENCERS?
One of ROYD’s social media strategies involves influencer marketing, which uses end-users who have a social
media presence of a reasonably sized following to help endorse and mention products (influencers) of our
brands in the Trade industry.
Influencer marketing helps to create a relationship between the influencer and the audience by engaging the
audience with relatable and trustworthy content. This creates an opportunity for companies, such as ROYD
Tool Group, to increase brand awareness of its brand’s products. A prime example of this would be ROYD’s
brand ACER in the launch of the latest ACER Deep-Hole pencil, where ACER’s influencer network posted an
honest review on Instagram on their thoughts of the product. Whilst this allowed people to share their positive
feedback and increase ACER’s brand awareness, it provided ROYD the opportunity to learn how they can
improve their products and continue to become bigger and better.

“What I will say about both
units is that they come
with a really cool holster
like some of the other
competitors, but also they
put the clip onto the unit
itself which means if you do
lose the holster you can still clip it onto
your trousers as well. It’s a really nice touch. With
a full lead the pencil will mark holes of up to 145mm
deep. With the marker you’ll feel straight away a nice,
chunky body, really comfortable to hold. You get the
choice of a thick tip or a fine tip. What’s nice about this
is the grab section they give you, it keeps your fingers
well away from the ink. With some other competitors
they don’t give you that and you almost have to use a
tool to get it off which is a bit of a nightmare. Would I
buy these again if I lost these tomorrow? Definitely!”

“What are the main differences [between the Reisser
and the Optimaxx screws?] Apart from the fact that
they’re both gold which is good, it usually means
they’ve got tensile strength, the Optimaxx has got
a cutting starting point whereas you’ve got a sharp
point on the Reisser, but not the cutting point. The
Optimaxx thread is serated to help cut through the
wood, the Reisser doesn’t for the moment. If you look
at the head the Optimaxx has that seration which helps
with countersinking whereas the Reisser
doesn’t. With all things being equal the
Optimaxx has got it over the Reisser and
you’ll be foolish not to choose Optimaxx
given the choice every
time.”

@pbplumber [When marking through a hole], something like a standard Sharpie marker pen isn’t
going to go through because it’s not long enough. These deep hole markers are
designed to go straight through so we can mark the wall. The deep-hole marker ink
has got a dual head so if it’s dried out it will reintroduce it to the ink well and you’ve
also got a precision end which is pointed. It does work on tiles, I’ve used it on metal
and it writes really well.”
