We don’t need to boast.
Our products speak for themselves.
We don’t need to boast.
Our products speak for themselves.
We don’t promise the earth. Instead, we prefer
to exceed expectations around the globe, time
after time.
What makes this possible is the outstanding quality
of our products and our exceptional standards of
service. Beardow Adams produces unique hot melt
adhesives that make a real difference to production
efficiency. For example, we saved Heinz almost
£500,000 a year at their largest global food plant
and reduced adhesive consumption at Kraft by 50%.
What is more, our pioneering products are backed by
service that goes the extra mile – and well beyond.
We have worked hard to achieve a reputation as
an inventive British manufacturer. Our production
facility in the UK is equipped with up-to-the-minute
technology. Fact is, our passion for creating
products that make a real difference is matched by
our unstinting passion for delivering outstanding
service. This dedication has built us into an
award-winning global company that now
exports throughout the world.
But, although our products have a long reach,
when it comes to research and development we
still have a short chain of command (which is a
sizeable advantage). So, if you quickly need a
product that doesn’t exist, we’ll make it happen.
If you want a product that meets specific
requirements, we won’t back-fit; we’ll forward
think – delivering value-added adhesives to a
diverse range of market sectors and clients.
This enterprising spirit is as strong today as it
was when we began in 1977. Speaking of which,
we are proud to have been given the Queen’s
Award for Enterprise five times; a first for an
adhesives manufacturer.
Could it be we are one of the best kept secrets in
our sector? Perhaps it’s time you found out.

Research and development04
R&D
is our lifeblood.
We have an in-house team of dedicated – and
determined – people who work full time on research
and development. Our investment in this area
means that we can work on custom-made client
requirements, as well as searching out ingenious
new hot melt adhesives.
Our dedicated team of industry professionals
has unrivalled expertise in hot melt adhesives.
They work hands-on with customers to get to
grips with their adhesive problems – and to
solve them.
The beauty is, when we hit on a new idea, our short
chain of command comes into its own. It means
that, as well as beating our competitors to new
discoveries, we also often beat them to bringing
new products to market. Our drive to find answers
for our customers has led to numerous industry
firsts and technological breakthroughs.
R&D
case studies.
A large soap manufacturer was previously using a
standard yellow adhesive, at a rate of 8.3kg per hour.
They switched to BAMFutura 51 and reduced their
rate to 2.5kg per hour – a huge 70% saving.
A UK paper mill previously used an adhesive that
caused 32-40 nozzle changes in eight months.
After moving to BAMFutura 1, they have changed
their nozzle just twice – an amazing 90% reduction.
A global powdered drink manufacturer was using a
standard yellow hot melt but had to stop production
every day for 30 minutes to change nozzles.
Since switching to BAMFutura 1 they have had no
stoppages in three months, saving the company well
over a million dollars.
05
While others play
catch up, we are
already there.
Innovation06
Thinking
ahead.
Original thought may be rare, but it’s something we
have built our business on. Much of our success has
come from our unique ability to develop innovative,
quality assured hot melts that are matched to the
specific needs of our customers. The initial challenge
may seem daunting, but we have the people, the
resources and the capabilities to deliver time after
time; developing clever, bespoke hot melt adhesives.
To this end, our commitment to investing in
cutting edge technology and methods ensures
that we are perfectly placed to develop technically
advanced, best-in-class products. These products
continually out-perform other hot melt adhesives
and deliver significant commercial benefits to
our customers – improving the end product,
creating a better production environment and
maximising manufacturing efficiencies.
Innovation
case study.
Beardow Adams has a reputation for innovation
and the technical excellence of its products.
BAMFutura 51 is no different; its superior quality
makes it a must for packaging applications
worldwide. The level of performance is unparalleled
and enables customers to rationalise and reduce
consumption, ultimately saving them money.
The idea behind BAMFutura 51 was to penetrate
the market with a product like no other. It has
the broadest range of temperature performance;
withstanding temperatures between -40°C and
+90°C. Its excellent adhesion, combined with all the
benefits of the BAMFutura range (white, no odour,
thermally stable), makes it a class-leading product
and has helped further establish Beardow Adams
as a leader in innovation in the adhesives market.
07
Advanced
manufacturing.
Our manufacturing facilities are among the most
advanced in the adhesives industry. In fact, our
Milton Keynes headquarters is the largest single
hot melt adhesives plant in the whole of Europe.
These exceptional manufacturing facilities really
come into their own because of our strong, secure
and robust supply chain. This allows Beardow
Adams to deliver up to 50,000 tonnes of hot
melt adhesives to diverse global customers.
We have made it one of our missions, over the
years, to develop extremely strong working
relationships with our raw material suppliers,
contractors and Global Partners. This unified
network of complimentary organisations works
as one big team to provide every single customer
with a sure-fire supply; no matter how complex.

The future
came early to
Beardow Adams.
BAMFutura™
10
A new benchmark
in performance.
It was a quiet revolution. But a revolution, none
the less. In 1998, Beardow Adams launched the
ground-breaking BAMFutura range of hot melt
adhesives, establishing a new benchmark for
performance in countless packaging, labelling,
woodworking and bookbinding industry applications.
This range went on to win many awards and
left a number of our competitors hurrying to
catch up with our technology – which, to date,
they have still not managed to transcend.
BAMFutura is a range of high performance,
thermally stable hot melt adhesives offering
proven, value-adding benefits – and we
make no apologies for the long list!
• Cost savings
• Exceptional thermal stability which improves
	productivity
• Reduced consumption
•	Odour-free
• Improved bonding to a wide range of materials
• Does not char in the hot melt tank
• Clean running
• Can be used across a wide range of
	 production speeds
• Eliminates nozzle blockages
• Unrivalled low temperature flexibility
• Can be used in applications that may be exposed
to temperatures ranging from -40°C to +90°C
11
It’s a
fact.
No other adhesive manufacturer makes advances
in hot melt development like we do. That’s why our
pioneering products are trusted by more than 10,000
major manufacturers and are used in demanding
packaging, labelling, woodworking, product
assembly, bookbinding and converting industries.
Packaging
Every year, thousands of top brand food, beverage,
pharmaceutical and packaged goods manufacturers
rely on our adhesives to enhance their product
presentation, differentiate their brands and improve
their production line conditions. We have taken this
performance to a whole new level with our BAMFutura
range; now incredibly successful for packaging.
Labelling
Tried, tested and trusted in even the most difficult
labelling uses, we make unrivalled high quality
adhesives for pick-up and overlap, vertical and
roll-through and tamper evident applications.
Day after day, our hot melts are relied on to
perform by leading producers of bottle, can
and jar packed products around the world.
Woodworking
We can work wonders with wood. Our
woodworking adhesives are clean and incredibly
user-friendly, perfect for precoating, profile
wrapping, edgebanding, softforming, foam
bonding, V-grooving and top laminating. Our
revolutionary range of BAMFutura adhesives
provides superior bonding of PVC, HPL, solid wood,
melamine, wood veneer, MDF and chipboard.
Product assembly
In our business, invisible bonds are often the best
kind. Our clients not only want adhesives that are
strong – they also want adhesives that don’t show.
Our superior Prodas™
range of hot melt adhesives
enable manufacturers to improve both product
quality and product appearance. Who needs nails,
screws and other costly and unsightly fixings?
Bookbinding
Bound to last from the first page to the very last,
we produce hot melts that provide outstanding
spine gluing, side gluing and tip-in performance.
Our incomparable bookbinding adhesives
give superior page pull strength and assured
bonding, creating durable spines that can be
trimmed just 30 seconds after binding.
Pressure sensitives
Our Pressen™
hot melt pressure sensitive
adhesives are specially formulated to deliver
exceptional performance on self-adhesive tapes
and labels. This means that they can be relied
on to achieve the necessary balance of shear,
peel and tack required for each application.
Non-wovens
The non-woven market is the single largest
area for use of hot melt adhesives, worldwide.
Disposable hygiene products all use them in
their construction and application processes,
so adhesives play a vital role in the performance
of the end products. Our BAMCare hot melt
adhesives are practical, sustainable and fully able
to serve this diverse and demanding market.

Read what
our customers say about us.
“Johns Adhesives and Beardow Adams have worked
in partnership since 1992. The partnership is based
on mutual respect, transparency and trust in each
other’s operations, people and products. Together
we operate as one team to bring value, expertise and
above all else high quality service to our Australian
and New Zealand customers. It is with high regard we
value the longevity of our partnership that now covers
successive generations of both Beardow Adams and
Johns employees.”
Craig Johns, Global Partner in Australia
“The key to Beardow Adams’ success has been not
only in offering high quality innovative British-made
hot melt adhesives, but, more especially in their
absolute commitment to establishing very close
technical and commercial links with each and every
partner in the region – this is especially important in
Latin America where good communication and close
personal attention to problem-solving is paramount
for success. Their ethos on strong technical
support, speed of response, regular field visits and
training resources both at home and abroad (and in
various languages) as well as up-to-date marketing
information on a regional and global level – are only
some of the qualities which are greatly appreciated
by both end customers and partners alike.”
D White, Latin American Co-ordinator
“Since our relationship began in 1991, it has
always been a pleasure to work with people from
Beardow Adams. Their speed, precision and
quality has helped us much in our daily work and
I’m proud to say that the cooperation between our
companies has been one of the most profitable
and successful things for our business.”
Jørgen Thaulov, Global Partner in Denmark
“First of all, I’d like to say that we are fortunate to
work together with Beardow Adams and to meet
friendly people from this company as well. Thank
you for the trust that Beardow Adams has placed
on us that we can be your partner to serve the
Indonesian market. Beardow Adams has been very
supportive and helpful to us here where they do
provide good technical support to our customers.”
Daud Sudirman, Global Partner in Indonesia
“Stephen Miller Packaging Ltd has been buying
adhesive from Beardow Adams since 1995 and
has only found that the performance and quality
of their service has got better and better. Of
special comment is their willingness to work in
partnership respecting that sales is a two way
process requiring both parties to make a return.
Recently the support Beardow Adams has offered
has been enhanced by high quality technical support
on the machinery that uses their adhesives. We
have found that this gives both ourselves and our
customers the trust required to make the necessary
adjustments that are needed to give them the
optimum performance from the adhesives supplied.
It is our intention to continue to grow the business
on a partnership basis over the coming years.”
Stephen Miller, Global Partner in Ireland

This range went on to win many awards and left a number of our competitors hurrying to catch up with our technology – which, to date, they have still not managed to transcend. BAMFutura is a range of high performance, thermally stable hot melt adhesives offering proven, value-adding benefits – and we make no apologies for the long list! • Cost savings • Exceptional thermal stability which improves productivity • Reduced consumption • Odour-free • Improved bonding to a wide range of materials • Does not char in the hot melt tank • Clean running • Can be used across a wide range of production speeds • Eliminates nozzle blockages • Unrivalled low temperature flexibility • Can be used in applications that may be exposed to temperatures ranging from -40°C to +90°C 11
  • 12. It’s a fact. No other adhesive manufacturer makes advances in hot melt development like we do. That’s why our pioneering products are trusted by more than 10,000 major manufacturers and are used in demanding packaging, labelling, woodworking, product assembly, bookbinding and converting industries. Packaging Every year, thousands of top brand food, beverage, pharmaceutical and packaged goods manufacturers rely on our adhesives to enhance their product presentation, differentiate their brands and improve their production line conditions. We have taken this performance to a whole new level with our BAMFutura range; now incredibly successful for packaging. Labelling Tried, tested and trusted in even the most difficult labelling uses, we make unrivalled high quality adhesives for pick-up and overlap, vertical and roll-through and tamper evident applications. Day after day, our hot melts are relied on to perform by leading producers of bottle, can and jar packed products around the world. Woodworking We can work wonders with wood. Our woodworking adhesives are clean and incredibly user-friendly, perfect for precoating, profile wrapping, edgebanding, softforming, foam bonding, V-grooving and top laminating. Our revolutionary range of BAMFutura adhesives provides superior bonding of PVC, HPL, solid wood, melamine, wood veneer, MDF and chipboard. Product assembly In our business, invisible bonds are often the best kind. Our clients not only want adhesives that are strong – they also want adhesives that don’t show. Our superior Prodas™ range of hot melt adhesives enable manufacturers to improve both product quality and product appearance. Who needs nails, screws and other costly and unsightly fixings? Bookbinding Bound to last from the first page to the very last, we produce hot melts that provide outstanding spine gluing, side gluing and tip-in performance. Our incomparable bookbinding adhesives give superior page pull strength and assured bonding, creating durable spines that can be trimmed just 30 seconds after binding. Pressure sensitives Our Pressen™ hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives are specially formulated to deliver exceptional performance on self-adhesive tapes and labels. This means that they can be relied on to achieve the necessary balance of shear, peel and tack required for each application. Non-wovens The non-woven market is the single largest area for use of hot melt adhesives, worldwide. Disposable hygiene products all use them in their construction and application processes, so adhesives play a vital role in the performance of the end products. Our BAMCare hot melt adhesives are practical, sustainable and fully able to serve this diverse and demanding market. Sectors and products12

  • 15. Read what our customers say about us. “Johns Adhesives and Beardow Adams have worked in partnership since 1992. The partnership is based on mutual respect, transparency and trust in each other’s operations, people and products. Together we operate as one team to bring value, expertise and above all else high quality service to our Australian and New Zealand customers. It is with high regard we value the longevity of our partnership that now covers successive generations of both Beardow Adams and Johns employees.” Craig Johns, Global Partner in Australia “The key to Beardow Adams’ success has been not only in offering high quality innovative British-made hot melt adhesives, but, more especially in their absolute commitment to establishing very close technical and commercial links with each and every partner in the region – this is especially important in Latin America where good communication and close personal attention to problem-solving is paramount for success. Their ethos on strong technical support, speed of response, regular field visits and training resources both at home and abroad (and in various languages) as well as up-to-date marketing information on a regional and global level – are only some of the qualities which are greatly appreciated by both end customers and partners alike.” D White, Latin American Co-ordinator “Since our relationship began in 1991, it has always been a pleasure to work with people from Beardow Adams. Their speed, precision and quality has helped us much in our daily work and I’m proud to say that the cooperation between our companies has been one of the most profitable and successful things for our business.” Jørgen Thaulov, Global Partner in Denmark “First of all, I’d like to say that we are fortunate to work together with Beardow Adams and to meet friendly people from this company as well. Thank you for the trust that Beardow Adams has placed on us that we can be your partner to serve the Indonesian market. Beardow Adams has been very supportive and helpful to us here where they do provide good technical support to our customers.” Daud Sudirman, Global Partner in Indonesia “Stephen Miller Packaging Ltd has been buying adhesive from Beardow Adams since 1995 and has only found that the performance and quality of their service has got better and better. Of special comment is their willingness to work in partnership respecting that sales is a two way process requiring both parties to make a return. Recently the support Beardow Adams has offered has been enhanced by high quality technical support on the machinery that uses their adhesives. We have found that this gives both ourselves and our customers the trust required to make the necessary adjustments that are needed to give them the optimum performance from the adhesives supplied. It is our intention to continue to grow the business on a partnership basis over the coming years.” Stephen Miller, Global Partner in Ireland 15
