4. IDEA: Horrible Beach. Campaign Poster.
“Life’s a beach not a bin”
I am going to use these kind of colours
which are really dull and grey. These
represent how much the beach is dull
when there is litter polluting it. I think
these colours are really effective.
I want to show a dull beach covered in
litter along the lines of these beaches.
Then a surfer stood in the middle of it all.
I am wanting to use real photography
makes the campaign more real life.
These fonts are contrasting as there
cute which I like. They contrast how
nasty the litter beach is.
I want a surfer stood on the
beach surrounded by the litter
and he’s not happy at all.
5. A plastic bottle may persist in
the marine environment for
more than 450 years if left on a
beach
70 percent of marine litter sinks, 15
percent floats throughout the water
column, 15 percent ends up on
beaches
Alarmingly, over the past 15 years the
amount of marine litter washing up on
UK beaches has almost doubled. Typical
examples of marine litter include waste
from beach users, sewage-related debris,
medical waste, shipping debris and
fishing waste.
On the campaign poster I am
wanting to put on one face
that is going to back up the
problem and make it become
more real to the audience. It
is giving a fact to back up the
slogan that the beach is
being abused as a bin. The
facts I am going to collect will
be a lot like these ones.
These are facts that are
showing that the beaches are
being littered and they tell
you how much litter is being
washed on to the beach, who
makes this litter.
40.4% of beach litter is from the
public This is the kind of look that I am wanting to
go for. I want a surfer stood on a beach
surrounded by litter. But a lot more
dramatic. I want it a lot more drastic and
dull. This is making it a lot more shocking to
look at. Give it a haunting feel like previous
ones that I have looked at.
6. The POW APPG targets reducing marine litter,
improving water quality and protecting special
sites of surfing interest
POW- Protect our waves.
I really love the campaign for protect our
waves at the moment. I think it is really
clever and aim to get inspiration from these
campaign posters. I am think of doing
something on the same lines as making is
very ghostly and using surfboard parts in a
disturbing way.
I will use these kind of colours. I want to
keep my colour scheme quite dull and I
really like the Smokey/misty look. In this
campaign I want to use negative colours.
These promote that it is negative. I don’t
want bight colours and high lighting. I
want low lighting to give it a negative
feel.
These are the kind of fonts that I
would want to use. I want to use.
I am looking at use more bolder
creative fonts than bold and
plain. This is bringing attention to
the words with are important.
I possibly want to include two surfers
trying to find the sea. But there will
be no waves so they will look
confused.
7. On October 2013, Surfers Against Sewage
campaigners were accompanied by double Brit
Award winner Ben Howard to deliver the the
Protect Our Waves petition to No 10 Downing
Street,
Ben Howard would be a good aspect to included in the
campaign poster as this is celebrity endorsements which
could then bring in more more supporting.
The Protect Our Waves petition received tens
of thousands of signatures of support,
highlighting the importance of UK surfing
resources to coastal communities nationwide.
I want to add important information on the campaign
poster. This is to get people to understand how big the
campaign is and how important it is. If I put on the
campaign that it is national and communities
nationwide are getting involved then this will encourage
people as they realise that is effecting not just people
who live next to the beach or surfers.
A beach including no
waves would be really
effective. As its scaring
people/surfers that
slowly the waves are
going to disappear if
we don’t do
something about it.
What will possibly be
affective if there is a
loads of surfers
waiting in the sea and
there not being a
wave. This could be
really effective for a
campaign poster.
I really like the use of
Rhetorical questions and
dates. I think this is really
effective and powerful as
it makes it seem like there
is a time limit which could
encourage people to act
out more and the question
make sit like it is speaking
out to you personally.
8. 300,000 whales, dolphins and
other cetaceans are killed
annually by fishing equipment
Plastics which generally make up about 60 percent of rubbish
are the worst offenders. An estimated 100 000 marine
mammals and turtles are killed by plastic litter every year
around the world.
I want to focus this campaign on
animals getting harmed by litter and
rubbish. So I want to create an image
of animals being endanger with fishing
nets and plastic. I want to create
disturbing and shocking pictures on my
campaign poster to make people feel
really sorry for these animals. In hope
then they may want to take action. I
almost want to use emotional
blackmail.
Having pictures
of a innocent
animals stuck in a
net and looking
distressed Is
what I want on
the front of my
poster.
I want to use a blue colour scheme. This is including different
blues to represent to water and with the different shades I want
to create a real life underwater image. This is to make to the
campaign seem a lot more real.
Using real life photography makes
this campaign real so people know
it’s actually happening.
I really like this already existing campaign
poster and I aim to take some inspiration using
my blue colour scheme I want to create a sea
like that and have just one marine creature on
the front so all attention is on that creature in
danger.
9. These are the kind of fonts that I am looking to use. I
want fun fonts that stand out and that are eye catching.
As this campaign is all about sea animals being in danger
due to litter I want the font to be quite animal
orientated which Is why I picked “dolphins.” I really want
to show how much we care for the animals.
Having these kind of merch that is about animals. I
would have the logo and an animal put on the
product to promote animals that are in danger by
the litter and the sea pollution that SAS are tying to
stop. These are the kinds of merchandise I would
sell.
I want to create a fun logo like
this one. I want to create a logo
which is very busy but you
understand what it is about. I
don’t want it be boring.
