2. SYMBIOSIS IS A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN
TWO ANIMAL SPECIES.
THERE ARE 3 TYPES OF SYMBIOSIS AMONG
ANIMALS:
MUTUALISM
PARASITISM
COMMENNSALISM
4. MUTUALISM
INTERACTION THAT BENEFITS BOTH
ORGANISMS
Example: Symbiosis between a crocodile and a bird
(The crocodile opens its mouth to allow the
bird to come).
Bird can get food that stuck between the
crocodile’s teeth
Crocodile can clean up the teeth.
6. PARASITISM
- Interaction that benefits one organism and harms
the other.
Example:
- Symbiosis between tick and cat
Tick - gets food by sucking the blood of their host
Cat - will feel itchy and lose its blood
8. COMMENSALISM
- Interaction that benefits one organism but does not
harm nor benefits the other.
Examples:
- Symbiosis between remora and sharks (Remoras
attach themselves to the body of sharks)
Remora - gets free transport, protection and food.
Shark - Nothing (No benefits, No harms)
