7. TYPES OF LISTENING
• Passive listening: It is an indifferent
listening. No conscious effort is made from
the part of listener and stops at hearing.
• Selective listening : It is a partial listening.
The listener listen only to that which he or
she wants to listen.
• Attentive listening : Attention or importance
is given to the words that are being spoken.
8. TYPES OF LISTENING
• Emphatic listening : Emphatic listening is
listening through ears, eyes and heart.
• Active listening : An active participation of
the listener in communication. The listener
makes conscious effort to listen, decode and
absorb the messages through a participative
process.
