1. Corruption
Corruption is the absence of honesty and virtue. The society void of law and
order is a corrupt society. It is found in all the countries of the world.
However, it is very alarming in the under developed countries. It has various
forms. It is found in the form of cheating, fraud, swindling and jobbery. They
ignore good manners. It defames and degrades the nation. They cause many
evils in the society. There are many causes of the corruption. Firstly, the
wish to grow rich overnight is its root cause. Such people ignore moral values
and try to feather their nests. They always look to the rich and do not
bother to look the poor. They use many fair or foul means to grabs wealth.
In this way, they cause corruption. Secondly, the prices of the commodities
of life are rising daily. In order to meet their needs, people resorts to
corruption and cause different crime in society. Thirdly, fixed income people
also cause corruption. The prices of the commodities of life daily but their
salaries are not rise with that ratio. Fourthly, unemployment in society also
causes corruption. Moreover, corrupt are influential and are never brought to
book. Seeing them, others are also encouraged. Fifthly, modern age of fashion
is also great cause of corruption. Now women spend more money on their
upkeep than past. They are not content with local made items. In this way,
they cause corruption. The most important cause of corruption is ignorance.
People have no sense to elect honest and educated representatives. Therefore,
corruption prevails in society. There are some steps to uproot corruption
from society. Given as under:
1) The government should try to spread education as early as possible.
2) It should launch an anticorruption propaganda in the mass media.
3) It should improve the economic condition of the country.
4) Corrupt people should be given exemplary punishments.
5) Te anticorruption department should be made more effective.
6) Drive for simple living should be launched.
