Narendra Modi’s Journey
Mr. Narendra Modi was declared as a candidate of
Bhartiya Janta Party for Prime Minister Election in 2014.
We are representing the efforts and skills related to
organizational behavior used by him in winning the
elections.
Skills used
• Vision
• Perception
• Leadership
• Decision making
• Management of people
• Influencing People
• Motivation
Vision
• He had a vision to be the PM of India.
• His objectives were clear & he knew how to
achieve his vision.
• He had long term planning and clear focus.
• He had a clear idea what his steps should be to
achieve his goals.
Perception
It is the way in which you notice or understand
something using one of your senses.
• He analyzed whether he is fit for contesting the
election.
• He checked how many people supported him.
• He analyzed the current market and people needs.
• He asked himself a question- how will he manage if
he is elected.
Leadership
The ability to influence a group toward the
achievement of goals
• He introduced himself to the people- Everyone
should known him very well before he being elected.
• He took charge- Charge of doing any activity in the
benefit of the society.
• He inspired people- He explained them how he can
help them out better.
• He directed his supporters- He directed his
supporters to be the helping hand for others
• He coached his supporters- He trained his supporters
for future-planned activities.
Decision making
• He enquired supporters : Before making decisions,
he asked his supporters about their views. Just like
before filling the form for contesting election, he
asked his supporters which ideas should he focus
on.
• He asked himself : After receiving views of his
supporters he asked himself the same question.
• He took decision : He took into consideration the
needs of his supporters and himself which helped
him to take firm decisions.
Management of people
• He managed each one differently: There were
many different people supporting him, he handled
every one with care
• He satisfied needs of his supporters : He satisfied the
needs (From Maslow's hierarchy ) of his supporters
so that they will work for him
• Assigned them: Right person for the right task.
Influencing people
• He got his work done : He Influenced others to do
what he wants. Got his job done in an effective
manner.
• He sometimes used his power of influene for purely
selfish reasons.
• He had great Skills: Need of powerful
communication skills helped him influencing people
Motivation
• He motivated his supporters for winning the election.
• Made people believe in themselves.
He used Daniel Goleman four elements that make up motivation
• Personal drive to achieve: The desire for being elected
and which also motivated his supporters.
• Commitment : He made a commitment to the people of
improving the nation once he’s elected.
• Initiative: Wherever possible he and his supporters took
the initiative and proved themselves to the nation.
• Optimism: He kept on going toward his target,
notwithstanding the social & political problems.
Conclusion
Efforts made by Mr. Narendra Modi led him to success & he
won the election with tremendous amount of votes and
love from people.
Leadership, motivation and belief in his team members and
in his goals helped him to achieve success. He used a
participative leadership style and, at times of conflict, also
an autocratic leadership style.

  • 2. Narendra Modi’s Journey Mr. Narendra Modi was declared as a candidate of Bhartiya Janta Party for Prime Minister Election in 2014. We are representing the efforts and skills related to organizational behavior used by him in winning the elections.
  • 3. Skills used • Vision • Perception • Leadership • Decision making • Management of people • Influencing People • Motivation
  • 4. Vision • He had a vision to be the PM of India. • His objectives were clear & he knew how to achieve his vision. • He had long term planning and clear focus. • He had a clear idea what his steps should be to achieve his goals.
  • 5. Perception It is the way in which you notice or understand something using one of your senses. • He analyzed whether he is fit for contesting the election. • He checked how many people supported him. • He analyzed the current market and people needs. • He asked himself a question- how will he manage if he is elected.
  • 6. Leadership The ability to influence a group toward the achievement of goals • He introduced himself to the people- Everyone should known him very well before he being elected. • He took charge- Charge of doing any activity in the benefit of the society. • He inspired people- He explained them how he can help them out better. • He directed his supporters- He directed his supporters to be the helping hand for others • He coached his supporters- He trained his supporters for future-planned activities.
  • 7. Decision making • He enquired supporters : Before making decisions, he asked his supporters about their views. Just like before filling the form for contesting election, he asked his supporters which ideas should he focus on. • He asked himself : After receiving views of his supporters he asked himself the same question. • He took decision : He took into consideration the needs of his supporters and himself which helped him to take firm decisions.

Management of people • He managed each one differently: There were many different people supporting him, he handled every one with care • He satisfied needs of his supporters : He satisfied the needs (From Maslow's hierarchy ) of his supporters so that they will work for him • Assigned them: Right person for the right task.
  • 9. Influencing people • He got his work done : He Influenced others to do what he wants. Got his job done in an effective manner. • He sometimes used his power of influene for purely selfish reasons. • He had great Skills: Need of powerful communication skills helped him influencing people
  • 10. Motivation • He motivated his supporters for winning the election. • Made people believe in themselves. He used Daniel Goleman four elements that make up motivation • Personal drive to achieve: The desire for being elected and which also motivated his supporters. • Commitment : He made a commitment to the people of improving the nation once he’s elected. • Initiative: Wherever possible he and his supporters took the initiative and proved themselves to the nation. • Optimism: He kept on going toward his target, notwithstanding the social & political problems.
  • 11. Conclusion Efforts made by Mr. Narendra Modi led him to success & he won the election with tremendous amount of votes and love from people. Leadership, motivation and belief in his team members and in his goals helped him to achieve success. He used a participative leadership style and, at times of conflict, also an autocratic leadership style.
