1. D i ff u s e
The function of this weekend lodging is to let a group of friends to
retreat from stress and go for a trip to Ipoh to enjoy their short
weekend in kek lok tong. The spaces of the lodging are arranged
according to public, semi-public, semi-private, and private to allow
the users to have group activities, small group activities or stay
alone.
The concept of it comes from the Brownian motion, which is the
random motion of particles, particles collide with each other thus
the resulting in the diffusion of particles from higher density to
lower density. It represents the movement of users from a public
phase to personal.

the south of the site, it is
noticable when users
come enter the zen
garden. It is not far away
from the nodes so people
can easily approach.
2. Entrance
The entrance is a space for people to take a short rest from the
long journey to the site. Users can leave their stuff at the entrance
and go explore the site, or they can choose to sit and rest.
The bed room is based on the dormitry concept, by using differeint
height to create privacy and visual interest, space underneath the
bed can be personal space or space to put user’s goods.

Orientation allows wind flow into the
bed room and the main public space.
Sunlight shines into the lodging to
illumate the spaces within.
It sits on an undesignated pathway
where have positive views of the
whole site. Site users and tourist
usually come here and take photos.

Building formSpatial hierarchy Spatial organizationm Materiality
Use raw concrete, timber and glass as
building material. The concrete support the
structure, cool down the spaces, and give
raw texture and aesthetic. The timber is to
create contrast with the concrete and give
warm feelings.
Subtract the middle part of the form to
create privacy for the public space, the two
remaining blocks provide views and privacy
for private space.
The circulation of the lodging is more
radial with the public space at the
center, allowing people to gather and
seperate easily.
User can access to spaces they want from the
public space, the spaces transform to more
private and personal as it goes outward and
higher.

5. Kitchen , Living Room, Dining Room
This space is the combination of kitchen, living
room and dining room. The middle bottom part
act as a node and public space, everyone can
gather here to cook, eat and have group activities.
This is an open space with no roof to let users
enjoy more views and wider interior space, if it
rains there is a space infront of the bedroom to let
the users continue with their activities.
As the space goes higher and outward, it becomes
more private and personal, users can go up to the
platform and enjoy their personal time and
activities.
