In a very busy, cluttered and uniform ‘hotel
booking’ category, we highlighted the
importance to craft a strong brand. And
when your core market, Russia, is going
through a big economic turmoil, you have to
sustain outbound tourism and develop
inbound opportunities through a clear image.
Ostrovok was relying on marketing
performance for a long time but the brand
was lacking substance for the consumers.

While most of the competitors tap into
pricing or large inventory, we wanted to
explore fears and expectations
expressed by the people – exploring the
feeling of making the right choice
beforehand, to meet expectations
beyond reality.
