2. Problem statement
Broad statement: Detection of peronosporacea fungus in a vineyard.
Symptoms: Oil spots and a moldy cover or bright green spots found on the leaves. A white
moldy cover is also found on the shoots and the inflorescences.

Once you know what you are dealing with, it’s easier to decide how to proceed.
On-time Detection is the key.
3. Step 1) Drone flying
• An automatic drone flies over the
vineyard, covering all of the allocated
area or allocated focal points, as required.
• The camera mounted on the drone
captures the requisite video.
• The camera used is high density so that
minute color changes in the vine is
captured.
• Flying capacity of the drone will be
geofenced (drone doesn’t shoot anything
outside the vineyard).

4. Step 2) Server side data push
• The data is pushed to a sever (generally cloud) that will accept
incoming video footage from the camera.
• The server stores the video by automatic means and preserves it as
per the defined algorithm (say automatically delete footage after 30
days if not done manually).
5. Step 3) Detection of Fungus (using AI)
• An identification engine (software coded) will check the designated
focal points.
• This is done through Artificially Intelligent (trained) software specially
trained to detect such problems.
• Any anomaly beyond a pre-defined range (say of the color) will be
recorded.
6. Step 4) Reporting
• The changes detected in the system will be
sent to various users (as designated by the
app) as a report in a particular format.
• The report shall include the real images
captured out of the video, area in which it is
detected, time stamp, and the concentration
(infected area per unit) of infection.
• The user will be able to view the report on his
tablet.

8. VR based Training experience for labors
• An additional training experience can be created for the manual
labors to deal with detected fungal infection.
• The users (labors) will have hands on experience through a virtual
field created with infected vines. The experience can include cutting
down of infected parts, spraying particular
fungicide or other actions defined by the
system.
