4 aspects of a verb:
• Simple
• Perfect
• Progressive
• Perfect progressive
3. The progressive aspect refers to
continuous action that happens over a
period of time. The verb usually ends with
–ing.
• Past progressive
– Describes an actions that continually happened in
the past but did not continue in the present.
– "was" or "were" + present participle
Example:
Peppa was walking her dog around the park all
morning.
We were writing.
4. • Present progressive
–Describes actions that are continuously
happening up to the present
–"is" or "are" + present participle
Example:
Peppa is walking her dog around the park.
They are eating.
She is diving.
5. • Future progressive
–Describes actions that will begin and
continue in the future.
–"will be" + present participle
Example:
Peppa will be walking her dog around the
park every morning.
He will be flying.
