• Simple
• Perfect
3. The perfect aspect is used to describe
an action that has already been
completed but is still linked to the present
time.
• Past perfect
– Describes an action that began and was
completed in the past.
– had + past form of the verb
Example:
We had visited the orphanage.
Ben had cleaned his room.
4. • Present perfect
–Describes an action that began in the past and
is now completed.
–has/have + past form of the verb
Example:
We have visited the orphanage.
My sister has bought a new bike.
Ana has slept in the room.
5. • Future perfect
–Describes an action that will be completed
in the future.
–will have + past form of the verb
Example:
The parade will have ended by the time
Chester gets out of bed.
I will have finished this book.
