1. Question 1: Do you think the title ‘Click’
was appropriate for our production?
A few of our participants did not fully understand the
title. As it was quite vague, it did not explain enough
to intrigue them. However, most of our participants
appreciated the title ‘Click’ as they said it draws them
in and creates anticipation. The elusiveness of the
title creates an enigma which the audience solve
whilst watching the film.
No Yes
2. Question 2: Do you think our romantic
comedy conforms to its conventions?
Yes No
Most of the people we asked believed our film
followed its conventions as it had several comic
aspects to it as well as having a budding romance
even if it is not between those who the audience
anticipated it to be. However, we decided to go
against some of the codes and conventions of a
romantic comedy and ended with a slight plot twist.
We thought it would make a lasting impact on the
audience as they would not expect it from a romantic
comedy.
3. Question 3: Do you understand the
narrative of our film?
As the narrative of our film was quite complicated
and unique, we had to explicitly make sure the
audience understood the plot through the
cinematography and editing of our film. Most of
our audience understood the narrative, however a
few said that if they were not paying attention,
they may have not been able to grasp the ending.
However as our film was comical throughout, it
kept the audience interested.
No yes
4. Question 4: Do you like the fact that we had
2 protagonists of the opposite sex?
Yes No
There was quite an even split on who our
target audience would want as their primary
star. For most of our participants, it wasn’t
perceived as an extremely important factor.
Many people said it doesn’t affect whether
they would watch the film. However nearly
all of the participants vastly appreciated the
fact that there were 2 protagonists of the
opposite sex as our film fit in with modern
society by encouraging gender equality
which is extremely important in this day and
age.
5. Question 5: Did you notice any underlying
themes in our film?
No Yes
The underlying themes we intended to
portray were of feminism as we wanted our
film to be socially relevant. Throughout the
film, the male protagonist, Tyler was not in
control as he was rejected throughout. In
the end, the audience discover that the
females were in control the whole time. A
few audience members that we asked
observed this, however for some it was hard
to depict.
6. Question 6: Would you recommend our
film to other people?
Yes No
Nearly all participants we asked said they
would recommend our film to other people.
This is because people said it was very comical
and appealed to them. However, it could be
said that this was because our target audience
was 15-30. we asked a few people outside of
our target audience and only 6/10 said they
would recommend it to others which could
imply that our film is only enjoyable by
younger audience.
