Marketing Plan - Social Media. The Sparks Foundation
6) looking back at your preliminary task
1. 6. Looking back at your
preliminary task, what do you feel
you have learnt in the progression
from it to the full product?
2. Photography
• For my magazine all of my images were taken inside a
special green room which a green screen, so that once
taken us students could manipulate our photos anyhow
to suit the purposes of our magazines. I had never ever
used a professional camera before enrolling on this
course, so I had to make sure that I had the correct
knowledge and the expertise help of my teachers to
learn the right camera forms and angles needed to take
the necessary photos.
• I learnt what kinds of lightings to use, the different
camera angles, the right camera modes and what
specific poses would cater to my magazine.
3. Adobe CS6
• During the course, I used specific applications to create
my magazine. These were called Photoshop and
InDesign. Photoshop was there for the reason of
cropping, developing and manipulating the images I
had taken. InDesign was there to create the
conventions and layout needed to create the entire
magazine and put everything together.
• There skills I needed to develop in order to use these.
One was colour range, which I used to erase all the
green from the background so that none of it was
shown in my magazine.
4. PREZI
• Prezi was an internet application used to
create presentations in a unique way and
present them in different formats. I had never
heard of it before, but I used the in-
application guide when creating my first
presentation on it, which really helped me
adapt to it.
5. Technological Setbacks
• Throughout the course, there were a number of technological
setbacks; the first being the fact that I had purchased a new laptop
during the winter holidays. I had decided to do this so that I could
develop my magazine at home and downloaded all the necessary
applications. I had previously emailed myself all the work on adobe
and the pictures I need and developed it at home, but when
emailing it back to myself and trying to access it in college, the
software in college wouldn’t allow me to access it due to the
applications on my laptop being an up-to-date version, and the
ones at college being out-of-date and incompatible with the new, so
I had to create the new version from scratch again at college,
negating all the time and effort I put into it at home.
• Another setback would be that whenever I accessed issuu to
embed my work it would load halfway and stop. This was hindering
because I had deadlines to meet, but I was able to with the help of
technicians.
