Science is a special knowledge which is not bookish in nature. The special
knowledge is applied in every aspects of our day to day life.
Science is attached to human being from birth to death. The utility of science starts
from the ringing up of a alarm clock till midnight before we go to sleep.
It has made our daily life easier and more comfortable.
Students should be able to:
 Describe and evaluate the benefits and limitations of science and scientific applications as well as
their effect on life and society.
 Discuss how science and its applications interact with social, economic, political, environmental,
cultural and ethical factors.
 Explain and apply scientific information to solve problems in familiar and unfamiliar situations.
 Carry out scientific investigations using materials and techniques safely and skilfully.

• In agriculture, we used so many things in our daily life which are the creation of science.
• Science inventions are used for more production of food grains to help the growing population. New
varieties rice, wheat and other food grains and use of fertilizers etc. have brought a new era in
agriculture.

stoves that are commonly used to prepare food are also
a scientific invention.

 So it is our duty to prevent misuse use of science and make our life more comfortable.
 Almost everything we use in our daily lives is a gift of science.
 Our life would have been very different and difficult without the advancement in science.
 Science is a faithful servant of man. It serves us in all walks of life. It is our servant in the home, in the field, in the
factory etc. It serves us at every step in life.
