1. Lesson Overview
1. The previous lesson is recapped.
2. Students move into groups and the students that were absent yesterday were absorbed
into the groups. You explain about accepting new members without complaint and make
a nice link to Manaaki 😊 .
3. You tell the class when the task is due and they begin work. As they work you wander
around and answer questions and make sure everyone knows what to do.
4. The class is stopped and you give them feedback on what you have noticed as you have
been checking everyone's work. This refocusses the class and they carry on working.
5. Some people finish a bit early so you ask them to research an aspect in a bit more detail.
The class are reminded that they have 10 minutes to finish.
6. The class are asked to email their presentations before the next lesson.
7. You ask the class to put their hand up and say the useful things that they have learnt in
the lesson. Then the class is dismissed.
Positives
🌟 Spending some time chatting with students about things other than their work. A nice
way to build a rapport with your students.
🌟 Noticing a common issue and stopping, then refocussing the class.
🌟 Extending those students who finished before others.
Tip
💡 Integrate the level of thinking required into the task explanation. For example, we have
been gathering information on our trip to Wellington and then processing that information
by creating a Keynote...
