THE GOLD RUSH PROSPECTORS’
CHALLENGE
2. The challenge
Work in teams 2-4 members
Create a keynote presentation with 8 slides.
Each slide will contain a picture and some
detailed text.
The content of each slide will relate to the
Gold Rushes and the social impact (impact
upon people involved in the Gold Rushes)
Each slide needs to be about a different
aspect/issue

3. Rules:
1. The text for each slide must be detailed.
2. The text at the start of each slide needs to begin
with the letters GOLD RUSH i.e. Slide 1 text
starts with G, Slide 2 text starts with the letter O
and so on.
3. Only 2 pictures can be from the internet.
4. 3 of the other pictures need to be taken here
today. They must show something which illustrates
the main point of the text.
5. 3 other pictures need to be taken of PlayDo
models which you will make to illustrate the main
point of your text!

The winners are those who produce
8 slides
The pictures must link to the detailed
written content
Slides must be detailed, historically
accurate, use key terms, start with the
appropriate letter, demonstrate flair,
Imagination and creativity.
Note: You will not be able to leave
the classroom until you have
produced text and a plan for each
slide
