2. INTRODUCTION:
The term internet of things is first used in1999 by KEVIN ASHTON.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a scenario in which objects, animals or people are
provided with unique identifiers and the ability to transfer data over a network without
requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction.
The Internet of Things (IoT) promises to be most disruptive technological revolution
since the advent of World Wide Web.
Internet of Things will made possible by the latest internet protocol
version(IPv6).IPv6 has the ability to connect to the devices which are more in number
than the number of atoms on the Earth.
Internet of Things becoming Internet of Everything:-Internet of people (such
as social network or IM presence),Internet of places(such as foursquare or any
location that can broadcast information about itself),Internet of Information (for
example, the World Wide Web, or systems that can share Information through APIs
or Web services)………..
5. In domain-specific cases, such as weather forecasting, public health management and
urban challenges such as traffic control, safety and crime prevention.
Emerging:-
improving the Industrial Internet:
In real-time monitoring Operational Intelligence of industrial
eqipments is used.
Big and smart cities.
Social impact:
Situational decision support and learning,(even) more transparency.
Hardware to Software and Cloud Analytics:
“IoT software platforms will become the rage, displacing the hardware. Much of the early hype
has been about cool new sensors, high-tech wearables, and new wireless technologies. In 2015
we’ll see increased focus on the software and especially the cloud services to make all these
sensors connect, upload data, and drive analytics that generate insights and enable business
improvements.”
6. • Interest Areas:-
Smart Homes.
Smart Traffic control.
Smart Wearable devices.
Smart Retail Industry.
Combining all the above turns to Smart Cities.
• If given an Internship in IoT I intend to work on:-
Developing the smart devices.
Maintaining the Privacy and Security of the Data.
7. The Internet of Things has the potential to change the world, just as Internet the did.
May be even more so…..
