This document summarizes the fire fighting system for the PN02 medical college buildings. It describes that water is supplied from the PNU station at 120 PSI and delivered to each building through alarm check valves and zone control valves. Sprinklers are located throughout the buildings and are connected to the fire alarm system. Landing valves in staircases and fire hose cabinets are also supplied water to aid in firefighting. The system is tested and meets UL and FM approval standards.

2. Introduction
Medical Colleges In PN02 as below:
Building 2.1.0: School Of Medicine.
Building 2.2.0: School Of Basic Sciences.
Building 2.3.0: School Of Clinical Skills Development Center.
Building 2.4.0: School Of Nursing & Physiotherapy.
Building 2.5.0: School Of Dentistry.
Building 2.6.0: School Of Applied Medical Gas.
Building 2.7.0: Amenities Building.
The station of PNU supplying water to all the building including PN02
where the pressure reach around 120 PSI.

PIPES ASSETS
Fire Fire System pass by the below procedure:

MAINTENANCE
& OPERATION
4. Training Module
1. Water delivered from station of PNU to each building through
alarm check valve.
2. From alarm check valve water delivered to zone control valve
serving sprinklers by area and stair case landing valve and fire
hose cabinet.
3. Pressure delivered to each building 120 PSI( 8 bars).
4. Pressure delivered to sprinklers 120 PSI ( 8 bars).
5. Water delivered to landing valve at same pressure 120 PSI.
6. Water delivered to Fire hose cabinet at 5 bars only passing
through PRV station.
7. Alarm check valve have a pressure sensor, and each valve have
temper switch and each zone valve have flow switch connected all
to fire alarm panel in case there is flow in pipe( mean there is
fire)or valve closed where the valve must always open.

7. Sprinklers
1. Sprinklers TYCO 68 C( red). for all area except kitchen 79
C(yellow).
2. Sprinklers types pendent( ceiling ) upright( basement) and side.
8. ALARM CHECK VALVE
1. In order there is any flow on the pipes because of fire when
sprinklers open the pressure sensor will give signal to the fire
alarm panel.
2. The mechanical belt also ringing once there is flow on pipe( fire).
3. The alarm check valve have also internal check valve where the
water not able to go back once we have low pressure in the main.
9. Zone Control Valve &
breeching inlet
1. Each floor have zone control valve to separate floor once fire not
existing anymore.
2. It have pressure gauge, drain and flow switch.
3. Once flow passing in pipe the flow switch will give signal to the
fire alarm panel that there is water flow in this floor which mean
there is fire.
4. The valve have temper switch and connected to fire alarm panel
which must be open always in normal stage.
5. Valves are UL listed and HAVE FM approval.
6. Breeching inlet is located outside the building to connect water
from civil defense truck outside.
10. Landing Valve
1. Landing valve used in stair case in all PNU building to secure the
exit from any fire is available.
2. Landing valve is regulating and the existing pressure is 8 bars (
122 PSI).
3. Landing valve are UL listed and have FM approval,.
11. Fire Hose Cabinet
1. Each fire hose cabinet have hose reel .
2. Each cabinet have powder extinguisher.
3. The pressure for hose reel between 5 and 6 bars for this reason
all fire hose cabinet connected to PRV station to reduce the
pressure from 8 bars to 5 bars.
12. Fire Extinguisher
1. Two type of fire extinguisher available in PNU, Powder
automatic( inside fire hose cabinet) & CO2 extinguisher inside
electrical room and basement.
2. The extinguisher must be always inspected and to be in the green
merging.
3. Different size 10 to 30 liters available.
13. FM200 System
1. FM200 fire suppression is also known as HFC227ea. FM200 is a
waterless fire protection system, it is discharged into the risk within
60 seconds and suppresses the fire immediately.
2. FM200 system used for main electrical rooms UPS rooms, BDF
room where the system are expensive and sensitive.
3. Each room have a separate panel and connected to main fire
alarm in order to give alarm to all building that there is a fire .
