3. Narrative structure
• Started with the excitement of the Brit awards which
set the scene to Meatloaf as it was him walking down
the stairs to the stage.
• Has a variety of interviews with lots of different
people talking about Meatloaf's life and how he
became a bug star again.
• There is a whole section on YMCA this adds drama to
the documentary because its conflict between two
stars in the music industry.
• Ends with the last words of his song because
throughout the documentary you only see parts of the
music video they are making.
4. Camera Work
• Hand Held footage- opening sequence this adds
excitement and drama to the documentary because its
like you are part of it e.g. In the crowd.
• There are also a variety of cut a ways when there is a
voice over this is to keep the audience entertained
when listening to it, the images also link to meatloaf.
• Also a variety of camera angles throughout some are
chaotic when there is a lot going on this relates to the
music business because its very full on.
• When there are interviews there is also a panning shot
when one music producer is talking.
5. Mise en scene
• There are formal interviews with music
producers behind a green screen, this is were
they can change the background to anything
they want. There are also different sides in the
interviews which looks like the music
producers are having a conversation.
Graphics
• Fake front cover with a montage and the
name of the logo.
6. Sound
• There are voice over's through the
documentary some have moving and still
images or other voice over's react to the
interview.
• There is also on off sound of his music video
and by the end you finally hear the whole
song this is to keep the audience waiting for
the final product which is his song.
7. Editing
• Montage of them making/producing the final
video this being the song ‘Bat out of hell’.
• Also a montage of conflict between the head
of virgin records and Meatloaf.

• Footage of the Brit awards which opens the
documentary.

end you dont see the whole video.
