A malignant cancer whose tumor cells
produce a pure hyaline cartilage that
results in abnormal bone and cartilage
growth.

• Conventional chondrosarcoma
• Dedifferentiated chondrosarcoma
• Mesenchymal chondrosarcoma
• Clear cell chondrosarcoma

• Grade I (low grade) – Cytological
similar to enchondroma

Characterized by a definite and
increased cellularity

• Chondrosarcoma is associated with
certain genetic mutation

• The estimated overall incidence of
CHSs is 1 in 200,000 per year
