The 8th OTA will be held at St. John’s Hoxton, in the
heart of London’s creative, tech & start-up scene. This
unique tech-agnostic event for 500+ developers,
designers, & entrepreneurs features a two-day workshop
programme delivered by the community for the
community – technical sessions & hands-on tutorials
where attendees learn about new tech, tools, platforms
& techniques. Attendees are invited to stay overnight to
work on ideas for the various Hack Day competition
categories and demo them on the 2nd day. It’s a great
vibe of bean bags, gadgets, knowledge sharing, hacking
& relaxed fun.

London’s Summer Tech Fest
Over the Air is a celebration of creativity and technology. A festival of all things
hackable. A place to learn and debate about new technologies & their
applications, new techniques & opportunities, and issues to be addressed -
together with other creative technologists.
Now in it’s 8th year running, this tech-agnostic event held in the heart of
Shoreditch attracts more than 500 developers, designers, & entrepreneurs.
Along side 2 days of community-run workshops to learn about new tech, tools,
platforms & techniques, Over the Air also features an overnight Hackathon
with camping on the grounds, and Lightning Talks on the Friday night.

2. “This is the 2nd year we’ve sponsored the event as we love meeting a strong group of
developers specifically focused on mobile, learning about their ideas and advising on different
ways of monetising their applications. The event allows us to showcase our innovations and
gain valuable feedback on how we can make our services better for them...in a world where
innovation is happening so quickly.” (PayPal, now a 5-time Sponsor)

3. "One of the most important things on show at OTA was not in a specific tool, hack, or presentation, it
was that when creative people are given toolboxes & told to have fun, (a) they will and (b) there’s every
chance that what comes out will actually be genuinely useful. Promoting that spirit of hacking and
improvisation in the community is the real success of OTA” (Ewan Spence, Forbes)

4. Over the Air 8 Years of Over the Air
We launched OTA to encourage creative collaboration and foster learning in the mobile
developer community. First held at Imperial College London, and then the fabulous Bletchley
Park, OTA is now at a unique new venue in Shoreditch that still keeps that grassroots,
community festival atmosphere for which we have become well loved.
We are proud to have attracted an amazing list of Keynote Speakers over the years - people
who share an inspirational message of how the world of tech is shifting, where it’s all going
and how developers & designers can make an impact. Not a sales pitch in sight.

We consistently achieve female representation amongst both participants and speakers of at
least 40%, and are not resting on our laurels. We actively reach out and invite a wide range of
people who are typically under-represented at tech events, and in keeping with that have
committed to both the Hack Day Code of Conduct and the Diversity Charter. All are welcome!
