JANUARY WEBINAR
MoCDA will offer a webinar on “Partnering with Career
Changers” on Wednesday, January 20 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. The
webinar will be presented by Cindy Jensen. The description of the
presentation is: “Workers will average between 3.5 and 7 careers
and more than 11 jobs during their lifetime. As career coaches
and advisors, how do we guide students and clients when they
have changed, the economy has changed or they want
to reinvent themselves?” Learn about why people reinvent their
career, what happens when their industry begins downsizing, using self-reflection and assessment to get
the client started, and more. This webinar has been approved for one CEU credit through NCDA.

UPDATED WEBSITE
COMING SOON!
MoCDA has been working hard
this fall to transition our website
to a new service provider, which
means our website will have a
new look and functionality in
early 2016! The updated website
features more pictures, easier
membership applications and
renewals, online event
management, a list of our past
events, and ways you can serve
MoCDA through committees or
board involvement. For our
board members who volunteer
their time, the website also
makes the work of our
membership chair and treasurer
more streamlined. We’ll send
further information by email
once the site is live with
instructions on how to login to
the site to access our member’s
only information.
A tremendous thank you goes to
our website coordinator,
Rebecca Nelson, for all of her
research, coordination, and
time she has spent during this
website transition!

BOARD MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
Ivy Hutchison, College and Career Counselor at Rockwood Summit High School
I am a new member to Missouri Career Development Association. I joined because I serve high school
students and I felt that this organization would connect me with
people and information that would help me assist high school students
in their post-secondary plans. I have an undergraduate degree in
Mass Communications and my M. Ed in School Counseling. I have
worked in college admissions and post high school counseling for 14
years. Additionally I have 13 years of experience in the television
industry as a television producer, news anchor and host of original
television shows for STL TV, ABC 17 KMIZ, and Small Business Television.
In the short time I have served on the Executive Board for MoCDA, I
have met wonderful professionals and forged new friendships. It is my
hope that you will consider joining a committee or another leadership
position in this growing organization! Please feel free to contact me or
any of our Leadership Board members if you have questions. I can be
reached at hutchisonivy@rsdmo.org or 636-890-6838.
LEADERSHIP
A call for nominations for MoCDA Executive Board roles will go out in early 2016. We invite you consider
if and how a role as a MoCDA leader fits with your professional development plans. Our organization
leaders say that getting involved in MoCDA has helped them to learn, network, and get more than
expected out of MoCDA membership. Leadership exposes you to new ideas, practices, and
professionals – and it’s fun! Our organization relies on you, our members, to contribute your valuable
talent and time to make us great. Watch for a call for nominations in January 2016. We welcome self-
nominations or you may nominate a friend or colleague.
UPCOMING EVENT
The annual ACAM Conference is April 14-16, 2016 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City, MO. The
