you will complete the following:
• Pick a topic and develop a research question to guide you through inquiry processes
• Articulate a significant problem related to your topic that you believe should be solved
• Develop potential solution/s to that problem
• Draft an essay that both proves there is a problem AND proposes solution/s to that
problem for an audience made up of people with the power to solve that problem
• Share your writing with your peers and your instructor to see how an audience reacts to
your essay
• Revise, proofread, and edit your essay according to feedback you received using
strategies presented in course materials
Grade Breakdown:
• Articulation of problem 30 points
• Proposal of solution/ quality of overall argument (how well do you appeal to readers
emotions, avoid fallacies, etc..) 35 points
• Writing clarity/ grammar 10 points
