This document identifies risks associated with filming in a forest and near a river, along with recommendations to prevent each risk. The risks include slips, trips or falls; damage to equipment; loss of equipment; interruptions from weather; and potential drowning. Recommendations are provided such as removing obstacles, keeping equipment in protective cases when not in use, checking weather forecasts, and taking swimming precautions near water.

Risk assessment – media
1. Risk Assessment – Draft 1Hazard Risk How to prevent this
Slips, Trips or falls Minor bruising or small chance of
serious injury to head or arms.
Remove any obstacles such as large
logs from the path and watch your
footing when walking through the
forest.
Damage to equipment Could break the camera and seriously
delay the production and filming.
Keep the camera in a bag or pocket at
all times when not filming to reduce
the risk of dropping it.
Loss of Equipment Losing the camera would delay the
filming significantly and would result
in a back up camera being needed.
Keeping the camera in a bag or pocket
when not using it would reduce the
risk of it getting lost.
Weather Rainfall could delay and interrupt our
filming and would make it difficult to
keep the cameras dry.
Check the weather forecast a few days
in advance to decide whether to film
that day or not.
