2. Gârda de Sus is the village of the commune with the same name in Alba
County, Transylvania, Romania.
Garda de Sus is located on the upper valley of Ariesul Mare, in Alba
County, northwest of Campeni, crossing the national road DN 75 and
sprawling on the slopes of the Bihor Mountains.
3. The village received the
European village indicator for
infrastructure works, tourism
promotion programs and
ecological actions, the opening
of a museum with a point of sale
near Scărişoara Cave, the
rehabilitation of some
communal roads and the setting
up of a typical moat house.
You can visit a lot of sights:
Scarisoara Cave, Ruginoasa Pit,
Vartop Slope, Varciorog
Waterfall, and many others.
From the center of the commune
leave most of the tourist routes
of the area, so we can say that
the Upper Guard is the "tourist
center" of the Apuseni
Mountains.
4. Scărişoara Cave or Scărişoara Glacier is home to the largest underground
glacier in Romania.

appearance of the quartzite layers (red-violet color), giving the area (from a
landscape viewpoint) a special aspect
