• So in today’s class you will do all the talking
• Hooray!
• So… what was your homework for today?
3. GROUP DISCUSSION
• Each group member must answer the following questions:
• What makes a good news story?
• What is something you remember in the news?
• Why do you remember it?
• How did that story affect you?
• What did that story make you want to do?
4. CLASS SHARE
•Use rock paper scissors to choose one person
•This person will share the general opinions of their
group
• If people had different opinions, tell us what these
different opinions were
5. WORKING IN PAIRS
• Explain to your partner
• What your article is about
• Remember to use all the question words!
• Why you chose it
• You may not swop your article with your partner! You must
tell them what it is about
6. ARTICLE ANALYSIS
• NOW you may swop your article with your partner
• Read your partner’s article.
• Complete the handout for your partner’s article.
• IF you are not sure of an answer, you may ask your partner
what they thought of the article and why they chose it.
7. GROUP DISCUSSION
• Briefly tell the group what your partner’s article is about
• Tell them about the

8. HOMEWORK
• This is your final task for this class
• Write an article of about 200 words on any topic you like.
• Email to me by midnight on 30 September
• The story should be factual – you can’t just make something
up
