This document summarizes the different parts of a circular knitting machine. It begins by explaining that knitting is a process that turns yarn into fabric by forming consecutive loops or stitches. It then describes the major components of a circular knitting machine, including the creel for holding cones of yarn, tension devices like the VDQ pulley for controlling stitch length, needles and sinkers for forming loops, cams for guiding needle movement, and various guides, rollers, and detectors to feed yarn and collect finished fabric. It concludes by thanking the reader.

3. Knitting is a method by which thread or yarn may be
turned into cloth or other fine crafts. Knitting consists
of consecutive loops, called stitches. As each row
progresses, a new loop is pulled through an existing
loop. The active stitches are held on a needle until
another loop can be passed through them. This
process eventually results in a final product, often a
garment.
Knitting:
4. After weaving, the most prevalent method of fabric construction is
knitting. The yarn in knitted fabrics follows a meandering path,
forming symmetric loops or stitches. When the interlocking loops
run lengthwise, each row is called a wale. A wale can be compared
with the warp in weaving. When the loops run across the fabric,
each row is called a course. A course corresponds to the filling, or
weft. There are two major varieties of knitting: weft knitting and
warp knitting. In weft knitting, one continuous yarn forms courses
across the fabric. In warp knitting, a series of yarns form Wales in
the lengthwise direction of the fabric.

Classification of knitting:
6. Different parts of the circular knitting machine:
Side creel:
It holds the cones. And it attach with the cone holder.
Uniform tension is maintained on individual yarns during
knitting.
Cone holder: Cone holder is the part of creel where the yarn
cones are placed.
7. V.D.Q Pulley:
It is a very important part of the machine. It controls the
quality of the product. Altering the position of the tension
pulley changes the G.S.M. of the fabric. If pulley moves
towards the positive directive then the stitch length is
decrease. And in the reverse direction stitch length will
increase. By increasing or decreasing the stitch length, S/L
increase then G.S.M increase and S/L decrease then G.S.M
decrease.
8. Needle:
Needle is the main or principle element in the knitting zone. It’s
main job is loop formation, hold old loop, knock over.
There have 3 types of needle
(a) Latch needle
(b) Bearded needle
(c) Compound need
9. Sinker:
The sinker is the second primary knitting element. It is a thin
metal plate. Its main job is loop formation, holding down,
knocking over
10. Cam:
The main function of cam is guiding the needle. cam convert
rotary motion of needle to a reciprocating motion. Knitting
cams are attached either individually or in unit form to a cam
plate and depending upon the machine design.
12. Lycra Attachment Device:
The device used for attaching Lycra filament is Lycra
attachment device. It has a con holder where Lycra filament
cones are kept. There is an outlet sensor which sense if the
Lycra out or break down.
13. Aluminum tube:
By this tube yarn passed from creel to the machine.
Knot catcher:
Clean the knot which made from dust.
14. Magnetic tensioner:
Give proper tension to the yarn. Tension vary according to the coarser and finer
yarn.
Yarn guide:
Properly guide the yarn in the knitting machine.
Inlet sensor:
It sense during yarn breakage and stop the machine.

15. Outlet sensor:
It situated in the positive feeder.at work is as like as inlet
sensor.it sense when yarn breakage. Light glow. And the is
machine stopped automatically.
16. Positive feeder:
One kind of accumulator .it store yarn at a uniform tension for
input in the machine during knitting.it can control tension patta
in the fabric.

17. Take up role:
Support the newly made fabric properly.so that newly made fabric
can wound in cloth roller perfectly.
Take up role
Feeder:
Feed the yarn in the knitting zone. Needle tip catch the yarn
from feeder.
Feeder
18. Adjustable Fan:
This part removes lint, hairy fiber from yarn and others. To
clean the dust by air flow. It is situated upper position of
cylinder.
19. Cloth roller:
The roller which is used to rolling fabric produced by the machine
Fabric detector:
This a device set in the inner of cylinder which detects the presence
of fabric in the cylinder
21. Sinker Cam- box:
It is the cam box which converts circular motion into
reciprocating motion and sinkers moves according to the cam
arrangement like as needle.
23. Machine parts involves in lubrication system:
Sinker box oiling:
The device used to oiling in the sinker box is sinker box oiling
system where a nozzle is fixed with the sinker box.
24. Cam box oiling:
The device used to oiling in the cam box is cam box oiling
system. Where a nozzle is fixed with the cam box.
