Key responsibilities and achievements
Developing a business and financial strategy in order to move from a material deficit to an
annual surplus.
Chairing project management groups, training and learning as we progress, and establishing
strong project discipline using a Prince II based toolkit.
Contributing to the development of the organisation’s vision and strategic plan and identifying
the key priorities for the next 5 years.
Creating and maintaining a corporate support strategy that best meets the needs of the
organisation.
Ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and adequate funding of activities working
closely with government and oversight bodies such as the Financial Reporting Council.
Influencing and instilling a business and customer ethos into the regulatory, conduct and
commercial operation of Professional Standards.
Establishing a corporate services and business support team built on trust, creating a
learning environment where team members can launch and advance their careers.
As part of a leadership team, delivering change and securing operational improvements.
Providing a well-respected and trusted finance, insight and corporate services support
function to business leaders.
Developing a long term financial plans and a rolling forecast approach to financial
management.
Commercial pricing and fee setting, negotiating and securing sales and service contracts.
Working to support staff through the ASPIRE leadership initiative and as a mentor.
Delivering leadership and risk management for example as a corporate member of the IT
strategy and steering group, business continuity planning management team, company
pension scheme oversight team and information architecture steering group.
Leading and supporting the implementation of the strategic and operational plan.
Championing values and decisions made by the Board and Executive Committees.
Providing leadership to the Finance and Corporate Services teams, developing the
operational plan and championing a culture of continuous improvement.
Embedding a performance management culture focusing on delivering the operational plan
