Aksarben Companies, Inc; Phoenix, AZ (General Contractor)
Operations Manager
Manage daily operations for a general contractor consisting of Industrial, Facility, Manufacturing, Medical,
Dental and Office tenant improvements.
Duties include managing profit and loss, supervision of Project Managers, construction budgets; cost
controls, Safety/OSHA compliance, construction budgets, purchasing, accounts receivable and accounts
payable. Generate AIA contracts, subcontracts, master vendor agreements, spreadsheets and inventory
control. Set up detailed project budgets in Sage Master Builder. Chair weekly Project Managers meetings.
Run P & L reports on projects, along with quarterly and year-end reports. E-Verify all new employees and
keep employee files.
• Re-organized all document controls to capture some $200,000 in change orders lost per year.
• Set –up custom company cost controls to monitor all project budgets. By doing so we were able to
correct labor or material issues before a problem arose.
• Author company safety manual, policies, roles and responsibilities.
2003 to 2007
Dean, Gilbert, AZ
General Manager/Operations Manager
Manage daily operations for masonry, landscape pavers, structural steel and miscellaneous iron company.
Duties included managing profit and loss, supervision of Estimators, Project Managers, shop & field,
purchasing, safety, fleet vehicle/heavy equipment purchase, construction budgets and inventory control.
Create company polices, safety manual, cost controls and roles & responsibilities. Space planning for entire
office, shop and yard. In charge of hiring, training, annual reviews, discipline and termination of
employees. Perform annual company P & L reports with budget forecasting for upcoming year. Chair
weekly Project Managers, Estimators and production meetings to review project’s status and performance.
Oversee company safety/OSHA compliance. Generate quarterly and year-end P & L reports. Track P & L
on projects and PM/Estimator production.
• Installed new (custom) labor, material, overhead, field and shop cost control systems. Made
adjustments in production and material purchased to increase company profits by 25%.
• Designed and supervised the new 40,000 sq ft facility for the relocation of office staff, shop fabrication
and fleet maintenance. This included (15) hooded welding stations, (2) industrial paint booths,
saw/machine shop, fleet maintenance area; inventory storage, yard storage, raw and finished material
storage.
• Increased revenue dollars form $9MM to $65MM and profit from 6% to 25%. This was accomplished
by becoming more efficient through cost controls.

2. 1993 to 2003
Performance Contracting Inc. Tempe, AZ
Division Manager
Manager of the technology department for cleanrooms and design build projects for Intel, Motorola,
Microchip, ST Microelectronics, Raytheon, etc with project values from $250K to over $18MM.
Duties included profit and loss, supervision of Project Managers, Project Engineers, Estimators,
Superintendents and safety/OSHA compliance. Responsible for hiring, annual reviews and terminations of
employees within my division. Manage RFP’s, estimating, bidding, construction budgets, contract
negotiation, project management, subcontract negotiation, purchasing, schedules, spreadsheet, inventory
control, project controls, RFI’s, change order processing, customer relations and project close out.
• Increased original projected margins on the following directly managed projects: Intel Fab 6, Intel Fab
12, Intel Fab 14 (Ireland), Intel Fab 22, Motorola MOS 12, ST Microelectronics, Raytheon (DB),
ATMI (DB), Photronics (DB), ADE Phase Shift (DB) and Microchip. A full project list is available
upon request.
• Senior Project Manager/Estimator of architectural finishes for Intel Fab 12 with a field crew of 150, a
value of over $18MM and a scheduled duration of four years.
• Chosen to assist in a successful start-up of architectural finishes for Intel Fab 14 in Leixlip, Ireland.
• Five time Eagle award winner out of 330 Area Managers, Project Managers and Estimators for
outstanding performance in customer satisfaction and company profits.
