Many years of continuous employment in the Electronics Industry working with Mainframe and
Personal Computers along with Medical and Commercial Lasers. Held positions of responsibility ranging
from Technical Associate to Repair Technician and advancing up to Quality Engineer by demonstrating
my skill, knowledge and initiative. Worked in Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Compatibility
Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Purchasing Departments. Setup exact copy of Surface mount
technology lab in Bangalore, India. Currently manage major labs with approximately 35 thousand sq ft
of space along with support of the infrastructure for the Intel Platform Validation engineering
organization.
Intel PEG/SVG Folsom, CA 2004 - Present
Infrastructure Lab Manager - Responsible for lab infrastructure power, cooling, equipment, consumable
products procurement, tools development, security, and safety. Planning for lab space, developing annual
objectives and key results. Coaching and mentoring subordinates as well as influencing the activities of
customers in the labs. Responsible for planning, negotiating problems, scheduling and materials requirements.
Identifies needs, coordinates and expedites material movement along with resolving issues. Responds to
customer requests or events on a daily basis. Develops solutions by utilizing past experience and judgments to
resolve problems.
Coordinates procurement activities for engineering departments to acquire materials, components, equipment,
and services in a cost effective and timely manner. Working with customers and vendors to develop tool
selections, tester development, interface hardware development, integration of new testers, and Logic analyzer
equipment.
In addition, supporting multiple Engineering Managers, in a strong matrix relationship, cross geography.
Responsible for developing, deploying and maintaining schedule and risk management processes, systems and
tools within the project in partnership with a peer team in the Israel, and Penang development centers. This
includes facilitation of planning, execution and tracking processes, managing deployment of tools, and
performing both project specific and systemic analysis of project management practices within worldwide
organizations.
Intel VPG Division (Graphics & Software Systems Support Group) Folsom, CA. 2000-2004
Rework Specialist Project/Program Manager-Responsible for interacting with vendors, peers and internal
customers developing an in-depth understanding of the vendors' business needs. Understand the business
process requirements to recommend appropriate modification, restructuring, testing, and implementation.
Worked with planners to determine schedules, for expedite and coordinate materials movement while resolving
issues. Also, I needed to work with customers to ensure that specifications adhered to and the project
deliverables are aligned with the business requirements. I developed and used strong analytical and problem
solving skills. Managed the SAS solder room. This included setting up, assembly/disassembly and debugging
computers, coordinating board level components, rework of motherboards and add-on cards. Additionally, tasks
that I performed on a daily basis are procuring chemicals, tools, components, and microscopic soldering of
SMT components and BGA parts. I managed and setup the heat profiles for all of the various circuit boards, on
the SRT machine. I setup an exact copy our rework lab in Folsom, in India. This task included the purchase &
negotiating the price of all the necessary rework equipment (BGA machine, X-Ray machine, chemicals & tools)
and training of personnel on the new equipment.
Packard Bell/NEC Sacramento, CA. 3 Years
Supplier Quality Procurement Engineer SMT-Managed Material Components & Product Development,
created new Bills of Materials and Part Numbers for Approved Vendor List. Qualified new components and
products, investigated & root caused problems and ensured incoming Quality Control. Managed Suppliers. In
addition, I coordinated purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to acquire
materials, components, equipment, and services in a cost effective and timely manner. Supported commodity
deliverables to assure cost, quality, availability and time to market objectives were met. Acquired and
maintained technical understanding of products purchased. Performed cost analysis and volume planning for
major commodities. Performed benchmarking and developed new supply sources where vendors and suppliers
were inadequate. Monitored the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality, at best
value. Recommended cost saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis, value engineering, design for
cost initiatives, alternative sourcing and vendor evaluation criteria. Responsibilities also included contract
negotiation and maintenance, setting supplier expectations and tracking performance.
