2. PRELIM FILM
This is my prelim film which was the first
film that I made in media. When planning
for this film all we did was done a mini
story board so we had a rough idea in what
we might be filming. The camera jumped
from one stage to the next. However, the
camera was very still as it was filmed on a
tripod , making the quality of the prelim
film very good.
The music was very dull as we hardly knew
how to use garage band so it was just basic.
3. CAMERA SKILLS
When we started to film our prelim the camera skills and quality wasn’t
done very well as it was the first time we was filming and at that time we
haven't learned any skills in how to make a good prelim. We had a rough
idea in our head in what we wanted our prelim to be about, however , they
was quite boring and simple. Even though , the prelim was the first thing
we done at the end we watched over everyone's and after that it gave us
better ideas and skills for when we made another film, so from the prelim
it was very useful.
4. MISE EN SCENE
In our prelim we just used our standard media class room to film in which
wasn’t very exciting and we had no proper props so we used a cardboard
box to pretend it was a table. Looking back there is so many improvement
we could of done to have made the prelim 100 times than what it was in
the beginning. My title sequence was much better as we used proper props
and costumes. We also filmed out side college for a better location as we
didn’t want the same result as the prelim.
5. EDITING
When I look back at the editing I noticed it was the biggest
improvement that I made through out media. When I was editing the
prelim I kept it basic and just put the shots together. Whereas for the
title sequence I added transitions , filters , jump cuts and match cuts.
The difference
from the prelim to
the title sequence.
6. GARAGE BAND
When I added music to the prelim all I did was pick the first sound that I saw because
I didn’t know much about all the other sounds that I could use and I didn’t know that
you could add more than one sound. By the time we had to add music to the title
sequence I learnt a lot more about garage band and used so many loops and different
music sounds. I also knew how to cut the sound and we also added voice overs of our
own voices to suit the title sequence.
7. MOTION
I didn’t use motion at all when the prelim was made we just added text
from final cut. At the time we haven't even heard of motion. Afterwards
I learnt about motion and that was the only technique that used for the
credits in the the title sequence as the templates was very good and
fitted well with our title sequence, could also and transitions and
changed the colour.
8. 180 DEGREE RULE
When we was making the prelim the only thing we knew by then was
the 180 degree rule , so we tried so hard to keep to it. However, we
didn’t use it as much in the title sequence as there was a lot of moving
around.
9. BLOG
When producing our blog there was lots of independent skills, as we
had to go home and do tasks separately. There was also a lot of
decision making because as a group we had to decide what tasks each
of us would have to do and because there was only 3 of us one of us
would always have to do a extra task so we also experienced
teamwork.
10. CONCLUSION
Overall , I have learnt so much from when I filmed the prelim to now
after filming the title sequence. The quality in everything is so much
better. I have learned so much editing skills which I would carry on to use
in the future. I have developed better understandings in both productions
and through out the production I come across mistakes which I improved
, but from that it helped me learn more. After having a good outcome on
the title sequence its made me have a good out come in how I will use my
skills in the future.
