1. Proposal
The name of the music magazine will be The beat; the genre of the magazine is R&B and Hip Hop.
The reason I chose to do “The Beat” as the masthead was because it’s short and snappy and
easier to remember, also it portrays a music magazine.
The target audience for the magazine is teenagers – young adults.
The main publications I plan on using are Photoshop – for the front cover and InDesign for the
contents page and the double page spread.
The type of artists my magazine will include will be artists that wear new style clothes which is
casual with an edge. I think what makes my music magazine different is that it will include articles
about real life music careers and opportunities of every average person such as the reader.
The title itself “The Beat” will be in bold lettering and the colour of it will depend on the colour
scheme based on that issue coordinating with the artist.
Publishers that publish magazines like billboard may be interested in publishing the magazine also
an issue will be issued each month and so it will be regular; my main target audience is mainly
teenagers -adults.

The reason I chose these colours are because

correspond them with my contents page.
