After some initial problems I
found it quite easy to layout
pages and move type and
picture boxes around to get
the look I wanted
I had to save the Quark files
as pdf’s so that I could use
them for my presentation
and put them onto my blog

MMADE
After choosing the final version of the name and the font that I thought
would work best I decided to change the colour to a bright blue as I
thought pink might alienate male readers.
There will be an overall fully bled picture as the main cover shot which
will feature the ‘main’ star article in the issue
The masthead is in the traditional position across the top of the
magazine and I want to have limited text on the cover to inform

readers of the basic concept but entice them to look inside for more
information.
I want to run the sub headings, website and issue number around the
edge to frame the main photo

Keeping the colour I liked the idea of running the title vertically along
the right hand edge as the eye is drawn to the right and it formas
more of a subliminal frame around the cover picture
The secondary text information will change colour to read correctly on
my final version with the cover photo in place and the shot will be
taken to suit this layout

On the double page spread I liked the concept of repeating the title using a colour change for the particular article as this is the main feature in
the magazine and ideally would be the centre spread
The left hand column is a text/facts list the rest of the left hand page is the editorial itself which is justified in narrow colums as I liked this in
other magazines from my research
The right hand page is a fully bled photo shot specifically for my magazine
